Swollen back foot

Wonder how long it'll be before someone see this post...I keep singing the jeopardy song...doo doo doo doo doo. Ummm I want to put this on before lights out in t minus 7 mins

Little late now but the peroxide you get from Wal-Mart (or any regular store) is already so diluted there is no reason to mix with water.

Keep in mind the peroxide will dry out the area it is put on so I would say just make sure you keep it as localized to the open wound as possible and try not to get too much on the rest of the leg. I really don't know exactly how it effects reptile skin but it never hurts to be safe.

Update - help :(

Ok just went and check on gizz and his leg his hanging and it has swollen up again. I having trouble getting ahold of anyone this late at night now. I want to bring him in ASAP. I'm getting another appointment for tommrow morning for whoever will take me. I don't like this dr. I got the last time though at ahloha and Ivan Alfonso is always very expensive and often way too busy. I need to know if i should take him sleeping in his tree tonight or wait till tommrow.
He was using the leg and the swelling had gone down but now he is swelling up and not using it again!! So worried for him. Advice on my baby???

Well I pm'd dr. O and hope for a reply tommrow. I also left a message for dr. Ivan Alfonso to see my baby again. I'm not going back to ahloha ( only went there for the weekend emergency.) any advice on how to make him comfortable. Looks painful to have his leg dangling like that. I want to place him on a clean rag that I want to set on the top of his hibiscus ...ideas? I don't think anyone is reading these posts :(

What vet did you see at Aloha? I go there a lot for my puppy and the occasional reptile emergency so I am familiar with their staff.

It sounds as though whatever the abscess was has come back, perhaps due to an infection or just general swelling due to the abscess itself, maybe? Do you not have photos of it? If it's not reacting properly to the medicines they sent you home with they may have to switch them over, so I would probably go back to a vet.

I don't remember his name. Gentlemen older with greying hair and was thinner. Has an accent. He was rough with my baby though. Yanked him out of my hair where he went to hide. He also recommended peroxide which I didn't like. He saw him on the 7 th. Dr. Alfonso saw him the 9 thand said it looked as though it was healing. Now it's swelling again. I want to bring him in ASAP. Going to get appointment early tommrow morning. Thank you again for this. Means ALOT to me. Can I make him comfy anyway? And as far as pics I'm on an iPhone but I posted several of him in the general photography area about his vet visit a couple days ago.

This is really a vet issue. I wouldn't begin to even try to tell you what to do. Since your animal was just to either vet I wouldn't think they would charge you full price since their treatment isn't working. If it was me I would raise a stink if they tried to charge me big bucks again. A recheck would be sufficient, but take him back to the vet tomorrow morning.

Charging me is not my issue. I'll spend the big bucks if I can recieve good quality care in a timely fashion. I am getting him in ASAP tommrow morning. Thank you jan !

Probably Dr. Perez. I actually really like him, he's not anywhere as experienced with chameleons as Dr. Alfonso but he tries and cares, which is commendable. He has treated a lot of other reptiles, like iguanas, so I'm sure he is at least capable of treating something like an abscess or infection. And he's good about not charging you as much/at all if it's a continuing care thing. I've taken 2 guys to him for surgery and they're still kicking! lol

Hopefully Dr. A or O will get back to you by tomorrow and you can take in their advice or concerns in with Dr. Perez to talk about them.

Thank you olimpia! I will Deffinately do that. Thank you for the help and concerns.
That's too funny. Gizmo my lil grimlin

Hes fine, eating alot of flies today roughly 15-20 today. Thought he had mouth rot cause everyone was freaking out about it on here and 53 dollars later he is completely fine. lol. What exactly is wrong with your chameleon? I'm sorry to here about your im sure its heart breaking.

Abscess in the joint of his back right leg. My poor baby has to get it fixed up again. Appointment at 1:30pm today. Earliest I could get. Sad for him. Good to hear crayola is doing Better!!!

I did not see dr. Ivan Alfonso. I was scammed by another individual who was not using his name but pretended to be a vet. Dr. Ivan Alfonso as far as I know is a reputable vet. I was to embarrassed to admit I had been scammed. Appologies to dr. Ivan Alfonso and to all of you. Thank you for your time.
