Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Cassidy eye update. Thoughts on appearance? First pic is the eye that had the issue. Took him out today to look him over. The roof of his mouth on the affected eyes side is still a little swollen. Of course vet was thinking this could be his new baseline. Just curious if the eye is most noticeable to me you others? Thanks

Other than a barely noticeable extra wrinkle in front of the eye he's looking back to normal. You will always have to watch that area because the damaged tissue will be more susceptible to infection. As an example ones that have had a TGI are prone to reinfection.

So one more question I noticed tonight that he is sleeping but appears to not be able to close that eye all the way… I’ve noticed this before but thought maybe he was still awake and just had it open. I snapped this pic and it almost looks like there is a layer covering his pupil but his eyelid doesn’t close over it… so weird . The other eye closes tightly. I will put a call into his vet tomorrow and see what she thinks but curious if anyone is super informed on the anatomy of the eye or ever seen this with their Chams.

After everything with Cassidy’s eye, injections for almost two months! (Yes the infection came back, top notch vet ordered double the original injection dose for 30 days), a fall from my hands during an injection, and not eating, he is finally appearing to be 100% better! It’s nice to see his beautiful colors again and see him back to normal. He is also way more tolerant to me needing to handle him periodically. It’s been a long journey but I think we are finally done!

Thank you. Me too!!! There were so many days that I was preparing myself that he wasn’t going to make it. He’d be so dark and lifeless, wouldn’t move… probably the stress of the injections and him just feeling sick. Ughh fingers crossed we’ve past this. He’s been off of the meds for two weeks now.

I had Jackson’s back 26 years ago that ended up getting sick and I lost them so I know how you feel. my Jackson’s I have now is healthy and we know so much more about their care and diet now. I just feel so blessed to have a healthy guy. He gives me scares every now and then like recently I thought he might be getting a uri but he didn’t and he’s good so I just thank God! I know how you feel though!
