Temperature/humidity gauge, timers... help

Well I have Ringo and Starrs enclosure almost complete. Just need to finish up the drainage system, screen, etc. Now the cage itself should be finished on or around the 15th. But decorating and stuff like that is going to have to wait till Jan 1st. So my question is: does anyone have any recommendations on temperature/humidity gauge and timer for the lights?

The most accurate and flexible way to measure temp is to use a non-contact temp gun. Check LLL Reptile for them or the tempgun.com (Pro Exotics) website. They are reasonably priced these days. You can check the surface temp (opposed to the air temp around it) of your cham, a basking perch, a light bulb, the cage plants, anything that isn't overly shiny (highly polished surfaces mess up the infrared beam) from a few feet away in a few seconds. Also means you don't have to leave a thermometer in the cage all the time.

I use electronic hygrometers (a fancy word for a humidity meter) you can find in home improvement stores. The multi function analog types in pet shops are not that accurate or reliable over time I've found. I've also found that humidity gauges can stay more accurate if they don't sit saturated all the time (like in a moist area of your cage 24/7). So I've started leaving my gauges right outside the cham cage until I want to check the humidity of a specific spot. Then I put the gauge there and wait for it to react to the current humidity level. Just my experience. There are some pen-type hygrometers that react pretty fast and they are designed to be moved and used at a moment's need.

Plug-in light timers don't have to be fancy. Basically all you want is to turn a light on in the am and off in the evening, not all sorts of varying schedules. As you may opt to have the UV light come on or off in a different schedule than the basking bulb you'll need 2 timers. A third multiple-setting timer that can be programmed for very short periods would also be needed if you are using an ultrasonic humidifier or fogger.

Couldn't have said it better myself! (So I won't )
