I just moved my Chameleon into a 48'hx24'wx24d and I was wondering if it needs more light?

This is it, i also got this light fixture in the back that I'm not sure if it is necessary? or is the light on top of the terrarium enough?

Please let me know what is best for him.

what is in the dome fixture to the left? you need a basking light and then the uvb light as well. It is hard to tell what you have in the pic. I have two domes, one for basking and the other is like a 25 watt which does not give off much heat but helps light the cage up.

oh you just have it off then. Well it really is how bright is the cage when you have the basking light on? Why is it off anyways? Also, from the pic it looks as though your chams body can touch the screen under the basking light. Is that just the pic or is it possible? If so, move down so he does not burn himself.

sorry I missed your question about the side light. I don't think you need it for light unless it is a grow light for your plants. That is an awful big light though and you don't want to over power the cage either. Running that vertically like that might give off too much and there may not be many areas for him to seek cover.

The basking light is never off it just looks like it in this picture because of the lighting in my room at the time I took the picture I'm guessing... And no he can't touch it it's a pretty big space from the cage to where the sticks are. Thanks so much for the respond I really wanted to know so I dont over power the cage...

ok great, yeah, sometimes they like to go down towards the bottom where it is darker like in nature when they want to get away from the sun so I think running the bulb on the side is maybe not the best idea. By the way, your cage looks very nice!!!

Thank you!!! My boyfriend and I put a lot of time and effort into doing everything for him & my other new female chameleon. :)
