The Daedalus & Azura Retained Clutch (Photo thread)

Again, because I hate creating a new thread every time I have photos I'm just going to keep a thread going for a couple months like the last clutch thread. Last Friday the first 3 out of 7 eggs started to hatch, and as of this morning all 7 are out. Today was the first morning I took them outside for some sunshine, so I took a few photos. I'm getting a new (unbroken) lens tomorrow, so any subsequent photos should be better, so forgive the soft photos for today.

The last and 7th baby.

As of right now I believe that I have 4 boys and 3 girls. Unlike the last clutch, which was 8 girls and 1 boy!

This guy is living with a fellow forum member here in Florida, who is taking great care of him. I hope she doesn't mind me sharing her photo, but here is Obi a few weeks ago. You can tell there's a lot of Nosy Be in the mix!

Thank you! Eh, if you say so lol. I managed to break the focus on my 50mm lens, so it is rigid as a rock. I have to physically move back and forth to focus, so not great for taking photos of tiny chameleons! But I'm swapping it out tomorrow, so better pics will follow.

I have often thought your male was possible CH Nosy Be. Seeing his offspring makes me think that even more. Not that it really matters, whatever he is he is gorgeous!!

You're not the first person to tell me that, and it's definitely very possible. He went through what I would consider a more Ambanja phase as a young panther, so I do think there's Ambanja in there too but who knows what the full mix is. Apparently dad is a full Faly but we know how that goes sometimes!

I've made up a family history going back generations for these babies to the best of my abilities so that buyers know that they have, but I only know what I've been told. The mom is 50% Be, so that's a big influence on the kids as well.

Thank you Laurie! I went back to Best Buy yesterday to swap out my lens, as I had been told on the phone I could do, since Canon gives them permission to do swaps for manufacturer's defects. The employee gave me a hard time about it ("what?! We don't do that, you bought this 8 months ago, are you crazy? We don't just swap products whenever you want! Oh... the computer is letting me do the exchange...") but I got it!

Great photos.....those little guys are soooooo cute.....how hard is it going to be to get them to the age where they will most likely make it to adulthood?....I had a Jacksons picked out for myself, out of I believe was a group of 7 and none made it to the age where they could be sold......congrats on your batch.

Thanks! I don't think it's too hard. Even the best can lose a hatchling or two for whatever reason, but my last clutch (9 hatchlings) went really well and as far as I've been told by their owners they're still doing well. I kept 2 for myself.

But for example, my problem so far in both clutches was the number that made it out of the egg. Even in this clutch, 7/9 made it out of the egg. I believe my humidity and everything was perfect, but perhaps not. But the ones that made it out did well. And we'll see what happens with these 7, but so far so good.

Thank you Laurie! You'll see a lot more photos of them in the coming weeks. This is the last batch of babies for a long while, we're going to remember them!

I've taken a lot of photos of them but not very many of them are any good, so I'll just post the few that are memorable, at least.

So, the only fairly crisp one:

This baby was gaping at who knows what. The camera, probably.

And I found this guy sleeping like this this morning. Looks uncomfortable, but who knows. I'm surprised he wasn't stiff when he woke up and started walking around!
