Congrats Joe!! Like Kent, I had no idea this was your first. You're gonna do great with them! Heard about the other two. It happens, but still sux. Anyway, congrats again!!
Here He/she is... My first hatchling is a Pardalis named Uno... I can't explain how giddy I am right now... But I know most of you understand without me explaining it. =) It's a healthy outgoing little one... Went in to pick him up for some pics and he charged my hand and didn't want to go back in his new bin.
Funny how it happened... Robbie was here looking at the little pipped egg, and there wasn't much action, so he took his camera home and was going to come back tomorrow... 5 mins later my roommate gets home, and I go in to show him and I see the empty shell. He was curled up laying in the vermiculite, and appeared dead, I picked him up and wiped him off a bit. Wasn't much movement or action but it didn't take him long being cleaned by a Q tip before his eyes opened and he was alert, awake, and moving around!!! I am SO HAPPY!
Sorry for the quality but my camera kind of sucks...when Robbie gets his better camera over here I will take some better shots... Hopefully more are out by that point too!!! Getting ready to put some FF's in their and watch him grub!
Thanks guys... I thought male to while I was looking at him... But I am by no means experienced at sexing hour old Chams. Here are some more shots, again sorry for the poor quality... What do you think?
Yeah I am gonna put my money on male. You'll know a female when one hatches, the top and bottom of the tail are parallel the whole way down and there will be a tiny little "nub" where it runs into her vent.
