The Friendliest Chameleon Ever!

I was thinking... chams are friendly when removed from their cage.

My (very friendly) guy is free-range, so the cage is not necessarily the only factor. His favored territory is a Tiffany lamp in the corner, which is up high, somewhat warm, and has an easily-climbable chain leading to it - however, he loves to climb on people, and is always happy to climb on a hand held near his lamp. What I've observed with him is that he's almost inevitably eager to be picked up in the living room (his free range), where being picked up means treats, warm spritzes, trips outside, or, at the least, sitting on and clambering over a warm human. He is much less eager to be picked up outside, or on the occasions he goes exploring and wanders into the rest of the house - he knows that in those cases, being picked up means just going back to the boring ol' living room.

friendly

Have to agree on the male panther vote. Females have the paranoid, motherhood chip implanted and i believe that strongly affects their behaviour.

HAHA I can report the same disappointment when trying to return my two veileds to their cages after sunning. I would try and wait till the sun wasn't striking them directly. They were much easier to deal with at that point.

One time I had a female who wasn't so happy to come inside... she saw my hand reaching for her along her branch... she ran down bit the tip of my finger HARD then did a 180 and ran the other way up the branch. It was the funniest thing! I don't know if she felt bad or what but she didn't fight any further advances I made to remove her.
