Most people say that chams don't like to be handled and it's a huge stress for them... my male panther (6 months old) is always so eager to get out and sit on my arm...

I was cautious at first because everything you read says they stress the only thing that I could put it down to was he hates his enclosure so much he'd rather be on the arm of a human.. when he is out on my hand i pat him under his chin and he lifts his head up and i can feed him a few crickets. ..

Would you still recommend that I don't try to handle him as much?

He is light and seems relaxed whenout and about... i know his basking colors and his stress color because when I've cleaned his cage out i put him on a piece of hose and he stays so still and turns almost black. .. when he's out on my arm h3 goes to a gorgeous teal color..
Hopefully he stays like this i love interacting with him. I've had him for 4 months or so.

Eh, that's more of a guideline. If your cham is comfortable with people and the interaction isn't stressing him, then by all means encourage his friendliness.

Just remember that they are primitive animals, and even a friendly cham can get spooked. You'll get to know his signals.

Enjoy having a friendly cham, because they do exist! As mentioned he may change his behaviors since he's still young, but there's every chance in the world that he won't. Keep doing what you are doing, and monitor him closely, but it looks like you may be stuck with a non-grump! :p

I have a incredible idea! Why don't you sent me your chameleon and I will sent you one that is more like 007! My wife, children (boys 6 and 9 years old) and I breed and raise Panther Chameleons with three goals in mind (and in this order) health, character and beauty! We all handle the chameleons frequently throughout the day, every day, from the moment they hatch! That is all they know! They are sweet, calm and obviously comfortable with being handled!
