The new girl (PIcs included)

She is beautiful! My first (also named Lily) was quite 'pink' like your girl although that was before I got her. She hasn't got her big girl colours yet so I would say coming up for 6 months would be a good guesstimate on her age! My Lily already had her colours at 6 months when I got her and Amy got hers at 6 months too.

great to know! then i will def be waiting till december to even think about breeding her.
i knew you had a girl named lily.
its a rpetty name, but i dont want to copy cat anyone.

since ive had no experience with females...
what are the receptive colors?
what are the gravid colors?

and yes, i will be putting a laying bin in her cage for 24/7 access.
but i just want to know so when she is old enough to breed, i know when its time to try.

this is what you have to look forward too. its like xmas all over again!
and the females are more dainty feeling than the males.

And since my income tax check is supposed to be here next Tuesday , it'll be Christmas in February

female for kermit! (my male hoe)

Camimom, I really wouldn't mind if you named her Lily - after all she has the same pink colouring that my Lily had! If you like that name and you think it suits her then go ahead and keep it! :D

Receptive colouring is bright blue spots/splodges. I never really noticed any difference in my girls though - I never wanted to breed them so I didn't take much notice since they always had a lot of blue on them all the time, lol! If they are not receptive they will hiss and gape at the male and rock quite violently - you will know if she isn't receptive and Kirk will get the message loud and clear! I never saw gravid colours with either Lily or Amy, even though they both laid infertile clutches. I am inclined to think that the gravid colouring (which is very dark green with gold/yellow spots/splodges) are shown after a successful mating which neither of my girls had.

A mix of dampened eco earth and play sand is better than just sand as it's not so heavy and easier for them to dig through. Amy's big girl colours developed over the course of a week or so when she was 6 months old. She got darker green spots and markings first, then she just got all colourful! That was almost 3 years ago now so I don't remember much, lol!

where can i get eco earth? petsmart?

she is very pretty im probibly taking her male off her hands rango,
but it will be 2 months before i can buying my first housse yay! but no room till then.

I thaught vielded females don't get bright colors like blue's & such like the males do? Is this a gene in her maybe? She's very prettty

Femals Can show a lot of blue and turquoise, in the form of poka dots, and when my girl does she is gorgeous, way more colorful then i imagined, plus she will get large yellow spots on her as well. so i think the females are the most beautiful of female chams.

also gravid colors she will be dark almost black with all her bright yellow and turquoise showing thru

Females dont get the bars like males do.
but they can get orange splotches and yellow and blue dots.

I agree. My female veiled Camille was one of the most gorgeous chams ever and a really great personality too. Here's some photos so you can see her blues and her blacks.
