Wow it took me awhile to figure out how to put pics up but I got it. A friend my wife and I built this cage at the end of the cat walk that was there just to get to the circular window the builder of the house put in. The frame work was already there we just covered the walls with a type of finishing ply wood and gave it a water treatment. Then we screened two sides and put in the door. The front is plexi along with the lower sides. My plants are doing great now. I have lost a few. The bottom pic is an picture I took early on. The top is pretty new. I mist twice a day and the plants seem to be getting just the right amount of water. It is not perfect but it is unique and Zero is happy. Cages are always a work in progress.View attachment 29596
Hi Skittles, I really like your enclosure setup and use of dowling. It is pleasing to the eye and it's huge! Your chameleon must feel like they're in the jungle How old it he/she? I recently adopted a 6 month old female veiled who had been living in a small glass enclosure (which was given to me along with her). I immediately ordered a large screened enclosure measuring 24" x 24" x 4 feet high. I think I'm more impatient than she is for its arrival. Lol. Meanwhile she has been digging in the corners and looking plump around the hips .. so I set up a laying bin just in case. It takes up the whole lower half of her habitat! I have been researching the best setup, I have 2 hibiscus plants on the way and want a ficus and/or umbrella plant, I also want to use dowling for perches. I saw one person who cut them to size horizontally, then just used tacks on the outside of enclosure, through the screening and into the ends of the dowling. Anyhow, thanks for sharing pics. So many good ideas hereHere is my baby and his enclosure till he grows. He has lights on timers and a mistvking mister. Mix of real and fake plants, wooden dowling of different sizes. How do you think it looks?
