Theme Names

If you have multiple chameleons do you like to go with a theme when naming them? I've noticed chams named after the characters in the Lord of the Rings, chams with Greek god and goddess names, etc.

mine have been very random. asked for help here on the forums a couple of times. wonder if anyone has done 90's alternative rock band names lol.

i don't know if i would call it a "theme" or not, but my husband and i both like mythical and mystical things in general and we wanted each to have an "original" kind of name (i'm sure there are others that share some of their names....) but here's our list right now... =)

Azlynn and Kataura - 2 females named after 2 of my WoW toons (heheh)
Astrid
Gargamel - for his blues (reminded me of smurfs!)
Ceri - for the "cerulean" colors she sometimes shows off
Stryder
Acai Loki - named by the hubby for either (i can't remember) "red" dragon or "fire" dragon... (even though he's really more pink! lol)

....and we have one nameless as of right now....hahah....just picked him up this weekend and waiting to find something fitting

We also considered unique names, just in case, with the thought of names for sires and dams if we ever moved into breeding

My Melleri are all named after characters from the show "My Name is Earl" lol. I have..

Randy
Crab man
Joy

It's funny because all of their names seem to fit

I named mine based on their species names.

Qadir and Cornelius - My quads
Tristan and Montague - My montiums
Pfred - My pfeffer's

None of mine have names and only named the few first ones I had. Ponce Cha'Meleon being "the best name ever"

Now I just call them things that arent nice and inappropriate They know I am joking though

I totally suck at giving my pets names.

My big ones are from 'Arrested Development' - George, Oscar, Buster - and my pygmies are Octavia and Tiberius! My baby turtles are Calvin and Hobbes and my big tortoises are Scarlett and Rhett. It seems like I have lots of themes going in groups...but my cat, dogs, adult box turtles, and ferret are all random.

I try to look up common names from the area the species is from...here is a list of common Malagasy names! Or take something you like, movies, books, shows...

Im going with a Wild West Texas type theme. My male is "Texas Ranger" (as in gun slinger, not the baseball team lol) And my female is "Texas Sky". But I know how hard it is to think of themes.

My wife and kids decided that star wars was a good source of names so my Jacksons are Anakin, Padme, Amidala, and Aasoka. My Panthers are Boba fett, Zev and we haven't named the new one. My wifes Veiled is Leia, she is looking for a good Han Solo to go with her.

"Skittles" is a good name and appropriate too.

I definitely have the "themes" thing going: Bearded Dragon is Aragon, male veiled is Gandolph, female veiled is Arwen, male blue ambanja is Willie Wonka, one female blue ambanja is Violet - and then I did go off course with my other two - female veiled I call Beastie because of her size, and my other female ambanja is Ms. Luvbug because she has a perfectly shaped heart on her side!
