These cats are driving me nuts...

With the park I live in... there is something seriously up with some of these people and their cats.

We are only allowed 2 pets (thank goodness NOT including reptiles... as well as fish and I think birds).
I know for a fact the neighbor has 3 cats and around 4 kittens.
A lady down the street recently had to remove ALL of her cats because she was found to have not 6, not 7, not 10, not 12, but 14 cats in her small one bedroom trailer.

Any who, many of the people here with cats let them run loose.
Because of this we have had a rise in the feral cat population...
Unfortunately because of this I will not be able to let any of my reptiles out for sun during the fall because I tried this once already and they tore up my reptarium with me outside with the cage!

I need to find a way to keep the cats away from my house.
Animal control is worthless because they charge "fees" or something like that to be called out there.
They've been called once already by the park but that was a month ago.
I've already seen at least 5 different cats today running around on their own, no collars, nothing, and they have that feral look.
It's not surprising to know wild dogs and cats are the #1 cause of native fauna dying off.

Crossbow...

I am a bird lover and I HATE seeing a cat with a freaking collar on killing birds.

If it weren't for the legal issues I would probably seriously consider it. They are the reason we no longer have as many house geckos around. It's sad. :(

I'd loan you my pit bull but he'd probably just play with them. :(

Here in CA, you can go to the animal shelter and borrow (with a deposit) cat traps. Then they bring the cats to the shelter and repeat over and over and over...

Toy BB gun. Wont kill it and there will be no mess.
Tried this, they keep coming back. They don't really care if they get hit.
Cayenne pepper maybe?
That would just make a mess I'd have to clean up as soon as management found it.
Python molurus bivittatus.
Python reticulatus.

To name a few.
Oh trust me.... if I could have those snakes they'd be getting treats weekly...

The park here borrowed over 15 traps, caught around 4 cats a day for 2 weeks and it never stopped. It's that bad. :(

Buy fox or wolf urine online or at a sporting goods/hunting store. Keeps them away realllly really well. Keeps raccoons and other prey animals of the two away as well. :)

Does it smell any worse than cat urine?

The crystals don't smell as much. Just make a huge perimeter with it around your home. I personally would prefer the scent of dog urine over cat urine any day. Not that I like urine smell...

Alright, I will check around.

From personal experience - cats do not like water - using a hose or squirt gun will make a cat think twice about coming on your property - and it does not hurt them.

We need to get a longer hose. Our house's setup is incredibly .... odd. The hose is on the other side of the house and it won't reach around!

please find a solution that isnt cruel as they have souls too just like the chameleon your trying to protect.
