They FINALLY started hatching!

Congratulations on your new babies. They are a thrill to watch, especially that very first clutch.

waiting 8 and a half months was a paaain!!! Looking at the eggs just sitting there.. but now I cannot believe they have actually started hatching. Three are out and a fourth one started peeking out about half an hour ago.. it is so awesome :D

Goddddd Now I want mine to hatch! ^__^

They started hatching saturday and I haven't seen them eat (doesn't mean they haven't). I provided both mels and hydei just in case they wouldn't like they mels since they are so tiny.

Awesome... I was over checking out the chams i'm bringing home in a month... and the owner has a clutch of Ambilobes just coming out... Seeing them that small walking around and coming out of the eggs was seriously one of the coolest things i've ever seen.... Congrats to you!.. make sure to keep the pictures of each of them coming =0) ... What was your incubator setup like?

I think I explained it before, but here it goes: I got a rubbermaid box (not too tall) in which I put about half an inch of water (I'll explain the use later). To keep the eggs, I use tupperwear boxes with hatchrite. I put the little boxes inside the bigger box and keep that inside my drawer. I use the water as a temperature regulator. (Much like the ocean here on earh). As temperatures go up, the water absorbs that heat (rather than the eggs) and slowly releases the heat at night. The water also aids in keeping the humidity up. I also have 2 thermometers, one inside the box and one outside. ( I like measuring the temperature differences)

If you have tiny poops, you have eating. This is tell tale sign that they are eating. I usually start veils off on 1 week old crickets. Did the veils come out with sacks attached to their bellies?

I use other feeders as well as seen in this video: http://youtu.be/nDTWCrhpJTQ

Very cool... thanks for the info.... I'm always curious of the different methods. It seems as though everyone does something different even if its a slight difference... best of luck... keep us posted.... I'm subscribed and along for the ride.

Yes, they had the sacs attached, but have dried up and fallen off now. I cant get such small crickets cause the petstores around here suck, but I have 6 cultures of Hydei FF and 5 of Mels with plenty to start new cultures.
I will check tomorrow for poop around their enclosure

No problem, always glad to share. I am still waiting for the other bunch of eggs to come out.. hopefully in the next 2 weeks they all hatch (I got around 40, cant remember the exact number)

I still need to get a pic of the fourth one to hatch.. it has even stronger coloration and cooler patterns. The second one shows purple-ish stripes rather than the normal white (idk why lol)

man thats awesome are you selling them? is so how much shipped i know it will be awhile but i might be interested if i can talk the wife into letting me have another

Hahaha, I will sell them.. but I want to take it one step at a time.. first have all of them hatch and start eating, and once they reach 2 months, decide on the price and what not. Send me a PM so I remember you asked

Steve, its been 5 days since the first one was born and I see no poop on the enclosure. I washed it today to be able to see if there is. I have provided plenty of FF's but havent seen them eat. Any ideas?
