This happened today (feeders)

I guess I can't speak with any authority about them, since I've never actually seen the "illegal" dubia roach here in Florida. I will say that if you've ever seen the giant WINGED discoid roach and THAT doesn't absolutely freak you out, then you must need your head examined ?
I've seen adult dubias—haven't (yet) seen discoids of any size, except for Wiki. Adults of both species look quite different from the nymphs. Can't say they freak me out any more than a palmetto bug (that literally scared the ? out of me when I was 4  ). And at 4, it looked a lot bigger than 1.5", so now I'm not sure it really was a palmetto bug...

No joke, I saw these monsters in a reptile store and they were easily as big as my hand (THAT'S NOT MY HAND, BTW) ! I swear it could eat my face off of it wanted to ?

@RescueMom you echo my sentiments perfectly! (and make me laugh) I’ve had my discoids for maybe 10 months or so now and have yet to touch one or be touched by one. Scoop scissors are my friend. :)

I've never seen anything like that! Amazing!!
When I had the discoids, I used my cheap yellow tonges to pick them up. The biggest problem with that was (other than possibly dropping them before I got them to his feeder cup) , the little demons could actually RUN up them toward my hand if I didn't get a good tight hold on them. OMGOSHHHHHHH! ?
After he only ate about two of these last ones, and the rest either died or morphed into the beetle stage, then died, I'm never getting any more!

Omgooodnesssss it's dinner time ?
I cannnnot ?
One day in the not so distant future you just might find yourself sitting in front of your roach bin watching them eat, noticing their food preferences and making sure to remember to give some extra of that next time, thinking, “awww...” as you watch the babies come out to gather around the food, starting to pick up on certain individuals, trying to figure out their social structure....Then you’ll be wondering what on earth you’ve become!

Did you just describe your nightly entertainment?? ?
Are you an ? or some kind of ?
I'll let you know when I cross over to the other side and I'll join you ?

heheh lool nobody wants to see cockroach movies
If that were true, there wouldn't be as many as there are. Schlock is an acquired taste. Not gross-out explicit—that's a different... penchant (which I don't have). I grew up on 1950s science fiction movies. We were doing MST3K before it was a thing—that's just how we watch movies. ?

Yup! That’s pretty much the highlight of my evenings. ?
Wasn’t more than a year ago that I thought all the forum members were insane and swore that no way, no how would I EVER buy roaches for my cham.

Wow that’s a lot! I take it your cricket experience was not so good?
I've never tried to breed them, and have no plans to. The noise and smell is enough to keep me from buying them, let alone breeding them. Though, I do buy them once in a while just for variety.
