tongue redness

i noticed a small amount of redness on the side of his tongue today while eating. his tongue still works fine and he's eating the same. is there anything i can do to fix it or will it heal on its own? didnt look bad at all just slightly more red. hunters around 4 months old been in my care for almost three weeks. eats like a champ. also wanted to see if i was providing a good variety for him and if there are any dietary changes i need to make. he eats dusted crickets, dubias, butterworms, super worms, hornworms, and crickets within a week and are there any more i can add? i gutload with collard greens and carrots. any feedback would be appreciated here are a few photos of him. i couldn't get any photos of the tongue unfortunately

I would add some more greens and veggies to your gutload such as dandelion greens, kale, endive, escarole, squash, sweet red peppers.

Could he have bitten the tongue? Injured it on something?

I think sometimes he overshoots his tongue when he eats so maybe he bit it when he was catching something. I will add more greens I also use kale and mustard greens sometimes as well

Just keep an eye on the tongue. If it gets worse make sure to post about it.

I'm happy to say today while feeding, the red spot that was there on Saturday was almost completely gone

i have read several times in the past that kale is bad for chameleons. I'm sure if it were true you wouldn't be feeding it. So how much how often is safe or is the whole no kale thing total crap?

I've heard so many different things about kale I ditched the idea all together just to be safe. I used it as a gut load once or twice and found that the crickets didn't like it anyways. My veiled loves kale Ive only let her have it 2 times though. Lots of people on here use kale but there are so many mixed messages I stay away just in case because its not worth the risk. Now I use collards, carrots and bug burger to gut load

Im pretty sure its safe if you don't feed it often or if you use it as part of your gut load with lots of other greens. Im no expert maybe someone more savvy on that can chime in

Go easy on the Kale. It's ok in small amounts. I don't bother with it since I won't eat it. I just get collared & mustard greens instead.
