Trioceros johnstoni bwindi

Nice cages guys!!!

Mine will likely be just 24x24x48 LLLs or very simple built cages due to time constraints. And they will probably spend the entire summer outside, I don't expect it to get too hot. If need be they can be brought in.

So is anyone else getting the Rwenzori locality aside from me???

I wish I could get them outside right away. About the time they get here I will be in 90+ degrees with night time lows in the mid 70's. That being said, I will be able to keep them out through December!!

That's a bummer... But I can tell you I won't be able to keep mine out that late in the year! ;They'll be johnstonipops;)

Good looking cages Saldarya, furniture quality!!! :D

Hey coldblooded, afternoon. I don't know what I'm get'n...

Good afternoon to you as well sir! You best find out! ;)

I will be keeping mine the same way and I asked for Rwenzori form also.

Thanks coldblooded, I didn't know there was a choice. Hope its not to late, I went ahead and asked for them. I kinda thought thats what they would be...

My bad I guess:( I am so busy and the kids keep it wild around here, its not uncommon to miss read things-hehe

No worries! There is a choice, but I assume it really depends what finds its way to Belgium.

None the less, each locale is beautiful in its own right. I just opted for the Rwenzori form since I already own a CB male.

CB male......NICE!!!
Does he have a red/orange head?

For those wanting pics, sorry been busy here's where I'm at right now...
(The water jug is for size comparison) Their starting to look kinda big... And did a light check with a random heat bulb fixture.

Cham Wall #1 is taking shape! Cage wise, just need to build 2 more doors and install a few dividers. I did install a 6" A/C vent line to the garage from the house unit, and since sealing the garage door, the garage stays a nice 75-78. The portable should give me the mid 60's no problem...

This week will be installing the drain line and misting system.(Don't feel like building doors at the moment-hehe) I did install casters and my 4 year old can move it around easily.(Just looks heavy) Just slap on some lights and the fun begins with the decorating. Feels like its taking forever...

Pool pic is me soaking branches:D, neighbor thought I was coo-coo! Why make a bleach water mixter and use a bathtub or trashcan, when theres a perfectly good chlorinated pool.:D

So how well is everyone elses projects going?

Looks good! I personally don't bother cleaning/sterilizing branches anymore. Straight from the yard to the cages! ;)

And yes, my male has red/yellow head and eyes. I meant to snap some pics today but got busy with flipping yard work:mad:

I don't sweat cleaning branches in the winter time, but with the temps and rain we have had, the critters like chiggers, mites, ants, etc.(Ghost ants suck!!!) can get bad. Plus i am being so darn carefull for these Johnstoni, feel like a new parent waiting for their child to be born and doing all this excentric care prior to the babies arrival-lol Also, I am prepping the Cham room to be as clean as possable. Well it will be a cham room once I build 3 more cham cage rack setups(mixed sizes of course) and finish the garage-haha

Uggg, yard work:( Don't feel to bad, I did my share of that today as well:(:(:( Pictures would be AWESOME, I would love to see him!!! Johnstoni have been one of my favorites for years!!! How long have you had him? Any personal care knowledge would be greatly apreciated! I am obsorbing everything I can from people willing to share:)

Here he is.. I also have a thread for him..

epy7atym.jpg

I have kept him just like my xantholophus and melleri so far and he has done great. Lots of water, minimal supplementing, and well gut loaded prey. He has been outside for a few weeks now and seen temps as high as 81-82 and had no visible heat stress.

Thanks for the info, i thought about that. I liked the way the white bounced the light around, but was wondering if it would mess with their eyes. I did consider doing something with the dividers, not sure what at the moment. The board comes white, its the pvc board. Plus making the inside more natural would probably be better. The white on the wood is a sealer... Been so busy getn the room in order, haven't even had the time to consider decor in the cages. Thanks, gonna have to give internal decorating more thought!

Soooooo jelous right now!!! He looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting, showjet mentioned 80 temps also... I have read that CB are more tolerant to higher temps, what do you think though of these newbies coming in? Are you gonna risk it and try those temps? I know the multipule waterings lowers the air temp, perhaps thats the secret... What are his night time temps? Thread, where?

I actually had two, four by four by eight outside white GOE (Giant Outdoor Enclosures) that were densely planted and the white seemed to make all the chameleons want to escape. I had the same problem with a divided eight by four by two enclosure I had too. I repainted the four by two by eight foot enclosure and I have not had the problem.
