outta curiosity.. a buddy of mine gave me some beetles called ulomoides dermestoides also known to laymen as the darkling beetle.. they appear to be the perfect size to feed young Chameleons hatchlings even.. People are drinking them to treat Aids, Cancer, Diabetes and other ailments.. would they be a good source of nutrition for chameleons?? thank all of you that can help me in advance...

If I'm not mistaken those beetles larvae are the little hairy worms sometimes found in cricket shipments. Cricket farms use them to clean up the dead crickets in the rearing containers.

Museums and taxidermists use them to clean bones.

I've heard that the hairs from the larvae can be an irritant.

I would think the beetles should be safe but I'm not certain.

Josh's frogs sells some variety of small beetle that is 100% safe and easy to culture. I would use those instead.

Good luck.
