Ummm?

Clyndo! That's what I was on for 11 days! Now that I've been admitted though, I'm on zancomyacin intravenously. Best of luck to your cham and myself eh? Although I think I'd rather have my leg infection than a prolapse. Lol

I agree ^^^^ I would ask the Dr if there was an option 3, if there is not I would tell him to find one lol.
Seriously though, best wishes to you @Scottsquatch wishing you a quick recovery!

I have to wrap him in a guage diaper after i apply this sugar paste on it. Let me tell u itl best hard to do. Knowing weebs is a crabpeople and hates being handled. Plus putting these drops in his mouth.Good luck to me on that lol

I would get him to a vet ASAP. We had this happen to a cat and we waited and caused him to pass away. Told myself I would never wait ever again.

He is at least going to need surgery to remove the dead tissue. The sooner the better! The longer you wait the more will die, eventually causing his whole system to overload, and there is NO coming back from that, he will die if that happens.

He went to the vet saturday. They gave me antibotics for him to take 2 a day. Like i said up in previous messages. If hes not better n its not gone by this week he will have to have surgery.

Dead tissue will not get better. I have read all the posts in this thread, and I am very worried for your cham. I am sorry you are not getting the answers you want, but you are getting the truth.

What are your thoughts @Andee have you had this situation in any of your rescues?

When a chameleon prolapses the dead tissue generally has to be removed. The prolapse has to be shrunk and put back inside the chameleon and purse string sutures have to be used to help prevent it from popping out again until it can heal. The chameleon has to be put on an antibiotic and watched to make sure a fungal/yeast infection doesn't set in. It has to be fed soft foods if possible. Even if all of this is done it can happen again if the reason for it happening is not figured out and corrected.

When i went to the vet. I didnt think she really knew what was going on. They never worked with a cham before. Just snakes, bearded and exc. she said she worked with a snake that was far worse from what weebo has. But thats a snake. But she said to try the antibotic and go from there. Ill call them and make another appoinment knowing its not helping. im worried as well and i dont want my weebs gettn any worse or even to death.

Don't take him to the same vet, that will get you nowhere, and not get Weebs the help he needs. I would start researching vets now-first thing tomorrow. Find a vet that has not just reptile experience, but experience with chams specifically. Once you find one at the least call them and ask to speak to the Dr. even ask that he/she call you back if need be. Explain what is going on, how long it has been, and what the previous vet told you to do, and see what they say. Most likely they will tell you that he needs to go in ASAP for treatment.
