Ummm?

Im going to have to go to her!!! Its my only option or let him die which sure in the hell isnt happening!! She had to of done prolapse surgery before since she was talking about performing on the snake. I hope they knock him out before it all
 
Any vet worth their salt even in mammals would never perform a surgery on genitalia without putting the animal under. They will put him under because of the amount of tying and cutting for blood vessels that will be required. If I am correct the hemipene is a very blood sensitive area. And generally chameleons you try to reduce stress and though anesthesia is scary with them performing a major surgery like this with them awake and just locally numb is asking for so many more issues. <3 good luck to your baby I will be hoping for you guys. I don't have emergency exotic vets anywhere near me either, about 2+ hours either way usually for a good chameleon vet for emergencies. But I thankfully have a regular exotic vet who is honestly amazing, she takes emergency cases as drop off or if it's really bad like insulin shock etc it's bring them in immediately and they will be treated with me standing there everything else is put off. She has shortened hours during Saturday and no hours Sunday but otherwise she is there almost all the time and she often calls clients ahead of time if she is going on a prolonged vacation just so we can be prepared. I mean we have other exotic vets just no emergency basis ones and none that go out of their way like she does.
 
No hes not doing better. Its getting darker and darker. I went to the vet last satupast. she subscribed me with antibotics to give him tice a day. Told me to sugar paste. Warm bath exc. and if it wasnt any better to call for another appointment. As i can see and learned up ahead its not going to get any better. Hes gona need surgery. Anyway i called for another appointment today since its the only reptile vet we have in my area. Only day shes available again is friday morning ughhhhhhh. And she said she will probably have to do a evaluation. Its really making me mad. He needs care now and i think all there worried about is taking my money with appointment after appointments and not doing anything til the last moment its real bad. If they kill my weebo over there stupidity i will flip out at the vet.

I know it might be late but its the only available date. Thank u all again. I just gave him another dose of antibotics and sugar wrapped him. But i live in mt.vernon ilinois.
 
With that swelling he can't poop and he also can't pee...so the whole digestive system is put under stress...plugged up. Intestinal blockage can cut off the blood supply to part of the intestine. Lack of blood causes parts of the intestine to die. Tissue death can result in a tear (perforation) in the intestinal wall, which can lead to infection. It's a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical and surgical attention.
Can you imagine the pain too??
 
Yes i know all this!!!! Its the only appointment i can get in shes available for surgery! If i could i would get him in now but i cant. No need to tell me all this i already feel bad enough
