Update on the Grey Headed Veiled.

Here is year old Leon-he is getting ready to shed again-his head will go gray for a month prior and sometimes stay that way through 2 sheds...his whole body gets dull.

Butter (6 months old) has shed his body twice, but not his head. His head is very grey. He has done this before, I think it's been a good 2 months or more. But soon, he'll start shedding on his casque, or under his chin....

Just curious here, why can't you reuse he Vitamin A in a few weeks? I'm a supplement freak going to the naturopath regularly for my own health, and I know how the gel capsules can be...do you find they dry out? Isn't there a way to a small bottle of liquid vitamin A? I should look into this through health stores. Great information and good question!:D

I suppose you could .....I don't really know.
I just always play the safe card and pierce a fresh one every two weeks.
It's not really a waste as I take this supplement myself and basically just lose a drop twice a month.:)

I concur, as this is sterile at time of packaging, I guess once it is exposed to air through piercing the capsule it could be contaminated. Although Brad, I think it would be minimal and probably not harmful!
Your skin must be soo supple and smooth Brad (says that with a gay lisp, although i'm not gay... for your benefit cowchick...lol)
And Brad, it was good info, thanks...

That's some great information on the Vitamin A and I never thought about that at all. I'm an Animal Nutritionist by profession, and not all multivitamins are created equal. I might have to try it on my veiled, as I don't find that he sheds nearly as good as my ambilobe, and thus colouration isn't always as nice.

Cowchick, I too spend too much cash on supplements for my own health and training benefits, but I do recall when I used to live with my parents, Mum used to give me Vitamin E capsules to rub on a scar I had, Vitamin E is good for that, I used to pierce the gel cap and rub a bit on the scar and then place the cap back in the fridge in a plastic bag. It didn't dry out.
I'm glad to see that my little guy may turn out like his Dad (me, good looking and without a grey head) after all....lol.. joke guys :D I'm not that egotistical!
Cheers
Scott.
