Uv light!!! messed up

when i bought my yemen i got a coil uv bulb, and i heard that sucks so i went to the store to get a new one, and they didn't have the repti glo 5.0 or the repti sun 5.0 So i did an order and they told me that i should be in the store in four days, and that day is today, my 3month old yemen have been without th uv light for four days, and when i finally got to the store the orded went wrong and they didn't got the repti glow 5.0, insted they got the 8.0. And i'll get the 5.0 in a week!!!!!!! I hate that store, but there's no other one Can he handle the 80. ub buld one week til he will get his 5.0? please write soon!

from info gathered here the 8.0 should be fine. if using a screen cage it will filter down to about a 5.0 anyway. i think youll be okay

If you are worried about it put the 8.0 a few inches farther away from the top of the cage.

But i have two screened doors and the rest is glass, should i just put it higher?

The top of my cgae is screened and the fron of it, both sides and the back side is glass. The whole cage was in glass before, that i bought when i got the chameleon because the guy in the store told me that this was the perfect cage, and i didn't know better. So i did som modifies and put to screened sides on it, the top and the front, soon i will build a new cage for him, all screen but is the 8.0 uv dangerous for him? it will be there 7 days til i replace it with a repti glo 5.0.

For this short time you could put the 8.0 higher over the cage top. The UV doesn't penetrate all that far away. Or, shorten the amount of time the light is on.

From what I've read, I'd keep the 8.0, as the Exo Terra Repti Glo 8.0 UVB bulbs were tested and the actual UVB output was less than the Reptisun 5.0
