Correct looking for a total of 11-12inches from the bottom of the fixture to the branch with the fixture and bulb type you are using. The 6 inches raised is fine as well.

Reading through this I just added this fixture and bulb. It can be a total of 11-12 inches? Let’s say 6-8 outside the cage and 4-5 inside.

You want a full 11-12 inch distance from bottom of fixture to branch. You would then raise the fixture 7 inches off the top then have a 5 inch distance from the screen to the basking branch. This way at the screen the cham is not overexposed if they are screen climbing.
