UVB Light fixture...

Hey everyone! Currently, I am using a Zilla 24" Strip light: 120v,15w, 60hz. Is this the correct one to use for juvenile chameleon? This is what the reptile shop gave me so being a new chameleon owner, just want to get your opinions on what you use. Also, he was climbing on the screen right underneath the UVB light does this mean it is not strong enough and he needs more of it? Any advice is much appreciated.

That is a T8. It should be fine for cages 36" tall or shorter (or if the cham only hangs out on the top half of the cage). zilla makes a 5.0/6% or a 10.0/12%. I have no clue which bulb the unit came with. Most of the time you want a 10.0/12% for the T8 bulbs and a 5.0/6% for the T5HO bulbs.

And climbing on the screen just means climbing on the screen, he might even just be warming himself directly under the bulb. Hell my fixture is aluminum and my cham hangs out on top of the fixure from time to time because its warm.

Young Chams seem to like the "hanging" on the screen. My did it ALL the time. He grew bigger and doesn't do it nearly as much any more. It was rather scary as I was worried he would lose his grip and fall..
