UVB Reptisun not working?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to see if someone has a solution to my problem.

I was plugging several things up to checked if they worked, and one of my light fixtures did not work. [not to mention a powerhouse timing system I bought, the prongs of the lighting would not even fit!] I have a Reptisun terrarium hood [24' inch] along with a 18' 5.0 UVB reptiun bulb. I plugged it up, and bam, nothing! I tried moving the bulb to different positions, but nothing helped.

Did I just recieve a dud of a bulb, or is the fixture that is messed up?

You could have a bad bulb. However, I would recommend taking a gander at this thread.

Your issue may be the difference between T8 and T12 bulbs.

could be a bunch of differnet things i would just check over all you electric supply

Is it new? Does it have a starter? Depending on how old it is, it may just need a new starter. They sell them at Home Depot for a little over $1.
