I just got a reptisun 5.0 UVB bulb and eveyone says there the light to use but my cfl bulb seems to put out a lot more light than then the reptisun 5.02 bulb. Is this normal. Thanks.

Yes and the CFL's can be way too bright at times as well and hurt their eyes. The reptisun is fine.

The visual brightness (remember, you are seeing it through human eyes, not a cham's) isn't the important aspect, it's the UV radiation the light emits, and part of that isn't visual.

Thank u bro that makes me feel a lot better. Do you think I should only have the reptisun instead of the UVB cfl bulb, the reptisun 5.0 tube UVB light and the heat lamp. That's a total of 3 lights. Thanks.

The ReptiSun 5.0 and a basking spot is fine as long as your cham can get within 18" of the UV tube during basking. If you want to increase the overall general lighting for a larger cage, any type of visual light (such as a regular fluorescent tube) will work and can keep your plants healthier.

I have 2 - 48" Reptisun 5.0's, 2 - 48" 6500k plant bulbs and one heat bulb, but I have a 72" tall enclosure loaded with foliage... :D

Thank you very much for your info. I'm getting an enclosure that's 18x18x36 inches tall. What lighting would you recommend. .Should I get a reptisun 10.0 instead of the 5.0 and should I get a heat light for the side of the cage and the top. Also what wattage for the heat lamps should I get.

You said you have 48 inch lights, what size should I get for the enclosure I am getting? .Thanks

I guess you were responding to maxttu? But can I jump in here for a minute? The size you gave, I wouldn't get a fixture any wider than the top (18") so probably a 15-16" 5.0 tube, which ever is available, and the appropriate fixture. Just so it doesn't hang over the sides and it should be fine since the depth is only 36" you really don't want to light/heat the bottom of the enclosure (overkill). That and a plain frosted 40 watt (summer)->60 watt (winter) bulb for basking should be plenty, I'd think. Just my opinion...
