Vailed or Panther?

both are easy to care for, and probably the same difficulty to breed. I don't know much about breeding though. But you should buy a panther, they are much more colorful and much less aggressive than a veiled is, though some veileds are very calm.

Veileds are a little tiny bit more tolerant of mistakes and can stand higher temps and less humidity.

You will not make money on your first clutch of eggs or maybe not even the second. Breeding females also shortens their life, I would consider it very carefully. There is a thread called 'The Cost of Breeding 69 Veileds' go read that.

I think you can breed if you dont mind spending a thousand or two bucks on the babies and not making any profit or even breaking even! You also have to be prepared to house the ones that don't sell individually. (40-60 is a pretty good estimate of what a girl might lay, but they can lay up to 100 or more eggs)

Do your research and if you dont mind all the stuff I already said, then go for it.

I'd do a lot of research before breeding chams. The females can become eggbound if not taken care of correctly. It seems like breeding would be very difficult and you would probably be unsuccessful if you don't do your research.

Just for the fun of it. I bred Octopus, why can't I breed Chams?

Octopus as in the ocean creature?

chams are a bit harder. constantly needing humidty and other needs when they grow. Your not just going to get one egg or spend under 50 dollars.
;) I dont see how its fun.

Thankyou! I am glad you didn't bash me. Where did your pic go?

You can always sell whole clutches to some places. Just keep a few back then you dont have to raise a :eek:ton of them.

Took it off. I'll probably put one up later.

I think you could do it, but dont take it lightly. The babies need you at least three times a day to be fed and watered. Hundreds will go into food and even more will go into housing containers and reptisun 5.0's and their hoods.

Thats OK, I work from home, so I can take care of them all day. :D

YES, saltwater Octopus that lay hundreds of eggs at once. Why are you so nagitive about it? Just because you don't want to do it doesn't meen someone else can't do it.

Don't be so postive mate. They do grow and growing means bigger and better cages. Cages will cost more than anything you get. Also means alot more money to the vet if you have a bunch around the house with something wrong. don't be so rushing..do your research and make sure you have time to spare and money to use.
