I've got my first ever 2 1/2 month old veiled coming tomorrow morning. He's only been fed 1/4" crickets so far but I'm planning on feeding crickets, dubias, phoenix worms and superworms. I've done my reasearch and I have everything set but I keep finding conflicting info on how much to feed him.
This is my planned feeding schedule:
Mon- crickets
Tues- crickets & dubias
Wed- dubias & phoenix worms
Thurs- crickets
Fri- crickets & superworms
Sat- dubias
Sun- crickets & phoenix worms

Does that sounds ok? And how many should I be feeding on the days I mix it up? Most of what I'm finding is to feed 15-20 crickets a day until he's at least 3 months old but I can't find anything on how many dubias or worms. Can anyone help?

Hi Mariekey29,welcome to the forum and part of your domain,I like ur feeder schedule:)and congratulation with your 2 1/2 month old veiled baby chamy,at that age ,I would suggest feed him as many as he can eat with the dusted and gutloaded feeders u mentioned above,so the baby chamy can fully developed into a strong and healthy cham in the near future, best luck to u and ur chamy, bye now:)

That sounds like a good schedule. What I like doing (my chameleons are adults) is feed roaches 3x a week then next week feed 2x other feeders like crickets/worms and 1x roaches. So basically just feeding 3x a week you get it? Good luck with your guy!

Sounds fine. Bit of advice. Order online to save a ton of money. Especially on dubias. My local pet stores uncharged a tone. Discountdubias.com has them cheap

M29,

Schedule looks good. Nice to mix it up.

Firehawk,

I concur, in part. On-line is the way to go until you have colonies of your own feeders set up. I've got dubias and supers going now. I buy small quantities of crickets and whatever else is in stock on line/ in LPS to add variety ie: silks, horns, mantis and the like to keep good old Lucky from getting bored with any one feeder item. Oh,..... the lengths we go through for our little tree dragons.......

I'm actually in the process of setting up dubia & crickets colonies. They're just expensive at my local pet shops to buy. I only bought enough dubias to see if he would eat them from there. Superworms are out. He won't touch them. Phoenix worms & dubias seem to be his favorite by far and he still gobbles up his crickets. I'm going to get some hornworms to try as an occasional treat & extra hydration.

He will probably eat the supers when he gets older. Chams usually adore them that's why they can become addictive if your not careful.
