Glad I am not the only one! It breaks my heart when I have to put him back in his cage and he does not want to go...Getting them outs easy..getting them back ins the problem lol
You really just have to observe your chameleon and try to handle him when you think that he is receptive to it. Put your hand in his cage palm up and fingers under his chin and belly. LET HIM CRAWL ONTO YOU. Leave your hand in his cage the entire time and let him get used to the idea of you. Slow and steady is the key here, if he seems to be getting mad or tries to get away then try another time. You just have to be patient and keep trying without being forceful. Trust needs to be built.
I can even have him standing in my hand and he will snatch a cricket up as I am holding him. Its all about trust. (That and he realizes that I supply the crickets hahaha)
