Veiled suddenly stopped eating

No, we've tried (he used to do both).
Keep trying... I know it is frustrating. Their hormones can really effect them. Then you add in changes to the cage. Throws them off their game a bit. Since the fecal was negative now it is just a matter of time before he breaks down and wants to eat.

Ok. Thanks - really helps to have a place to go for this stuff. Fascinating, weird little creatures. I'm in love.

They really are... So keep offering food everyday. By hand, cup etc. It has been like a month... Are you tracking his weight as well?

He was at 200g on 4/27, 187g on 5/9, 183g today. :( He actually went off food for the most part around 4/17.
Ok so the weight is still good not shockingly low. I would just keep offering via all methods. hand, cup, bucket at the bottom. Any way he would eat before he went off food.

Our vet recommended force feeding with Oxbow Carnivore - any advice on which one to order ("critical care", "carnivore care")?
Yeah this is outside my area... If he is still healthy, urates are white meaning hydrated, moving around and is 183 grams personally I would be worried about force feeding causing more stress and harm then good.

You have made a lot of changes to the environment. When they mature they only eat a handful of feeders a week.

I am going to tag in others to comment on force feeding @kinyonga @JacksJill @jannb

I've used Carnivore Care but I don't like to because it has a lot of vitamins in it and it would be easy to overdose them. I only use it for very short periods of time. The problem with force feeding a liquid or paste is it is easy to get some down the wrong tube and create a pneumonia. I think you are better off getting them to drink and inserting a bug in their mouth when it's open if you can.
