Thanks for the interest Charlie. I appreciate the questions.
My guys live in an 18x18x36 Zoo Med screen cage, with a Mist King mister (single nozzle) that goes off 8 times a day (once at 3am when Lenard is mostly out and about). Finn knows where the water is aimed, and he picked a sleeping spot on top of the tallest bonsai thats clear from mist-shot.
I'll take a pic of the enclosure when I get home tonight.
Little Basil, my veiled who died at around 2 yrs. old, died from an impaction. Early on, I saw her eating the dirt in one of her 3 live trees, so I removed some dirt from the pots and covered the base of each tree with large pebbles. Well, one of the rocks wasn't large enough and it blocked her up completely.
She looked fine, but I noticed she wasn't eating and made a vet appt. for the next afternoon.
Afternoon was too late. She was gone the next morning. I brought her to the doc anyway, who was able to confirm what did her in. Not a mistake I'll make again.
As far as the frog causing her stress, I seriously don't think so. See the pics in the post I linked to.
We found Lenard, an American tree frog about 5 years ago while we were on vacation in Maryland. We rented a house and little Lenard was hopping around the laundry room.
My wife freaked, but my kids loved it (he's super cute) and begged to take it home. Just so happend, my daughter's hermit crab, which she insisted on bringing on the trip) died the day before. So we had this empty critter carrier...
Thankfully, Lenard survived the trip home and I promptly bought a small, glass zoo med enclosure. He lived there for a couple years.
Then in 2014, I got Basil.
The large cage I got for her, with the mister and all the places to hide and explore looked to me like paradise for Lenard. And it made me feel like his current tank was a prison.
So I brought him to Basil's cage and let him hop in. He landed on a vine near Basil and she freaked. Blew up and flattened out bigger than I ever saw, and changed colors I had no idea was possible.
I came real close to pulling the frog out, but he made his way to somewhere I couldn't see him, so I thought it best to let Basil chill for a while.
Ultimately, it worked out just fine, and thankfully it's just fine with Finn too. These two are almost always within eye-shot of each other and could care less. Lenard spends lots of time hanging in Finn's food dish (it's under a leaf, which is under the mister), and lots of time on that vine in the pic in my earlier post. When Finn's walking that vine, when he gets to Lenard, Lenard doesn't budge and Finn makes a right turn to go around.
How much longer Lenard will be with us, I really don't know. But he looks fat and happy, and I hope I gave him a better, longer life than he would have had in the Maryland laundry room.

@jamest0o0 did you get new soil down ? What did you end up doing with the bugs ?

@jamest0o0 is right that cage is too small for one chameleon if it is an adult. Not sure about frogs, but your chameleon might be feeling a little cramped.

Hey guys I apologize for being rude. Was just in a crap mood and saw some things I didn't agree with, but doesn't mean I couldn't approach it better. After all, we're all friends here.
Btw @Kristen Wilkins what do you mean about the soil and bugs, not sure what you're asking? sorry!
Also I love veileds I didn't mean that to be taken out of context. We just unfortunately see a lot of veileds treated like throw aways and I hate it, not saying anyone here is doing that, But just in general.

@Kristen Wilkins Yeah I did, but I seeded the new stuff with as many bugs as I could. Im working on 3 giant substrate bins for my Chams atm 2 feet deep lol. Going to be their forever homes. Also just finished a mini bioactive free range for my baby.

Yea ever since he had the bacterial infection and I had to give him medicine he gets all big and tough and wont let me take him out without a nip or two. He doesnt mind my girlfriend though. He usually waits at the door when shes getting ready to mist or clean his enclosure and climbs right into her hand and up onto her shoulder while she cleans the cage. He likes to hold a grudge haha

Yup I would say so . Our little girl does that only in her basking area . It's her Queen perch . No one is EVER allowed there for any reason not her cup , not hands ,not water droplets nothing !!. She will bit her cup , hands even at the water droplets . It's off limits .
