Was digging but now not??

Also last time you posted I think she was waking up later or going to bed earlier than normal. Is that still happening?
Hi, she's actually quite active again at the mo. Waking up between 7.30-8.30am and going to bed between 6.30 - 7.30 (lights are on 7.30 - 7.30). She's eating lots and feaces are looking healthy. The xray was 26th July, following concern that she'd stopped digging a couple of weeks before that. We're nearly another 4 weeks on from the xray now.

Hey all, need your help again please! So my girl still hasn't laid her blooming eggs. But she's looking really healthy. Furthermore, she was constantly trying to look out below the paper cover on her viv, so we've taken one side off. She is not hiding, not dark in colour, not acting shy or poorly at all. And here's where it gets weird...she spotted our male on his climbing ropes yesterday and didn't shy away!! I opened her viv door and she practically ran up my arm toward him! (They were not in close contact, I made sure of that). She never comes out willingly let alone run up my arm! Does she want to mate? Would that make her lay the eggs? I don't understand and don't want to hurt her. Please help!

I honestly have no idea anymore of what your little cutie patootie is doing. What is really messing with me is that when you took her to the vet, the x ray showed she was full of eggs and the vet said she was egg bound. While it would have been hard to miss, is it at all possible that she has laid her eggs already…whether in her bin or a potted plant?
I don’t think it means very much that she was curious about your male. They are very curious little creatures and my little girl always is interested in everything I do and whenever she sees any other animals, chameleons or other.

Very difficult at the moment. Yet, when my baby girl (also panther) was gravid and she saw my male Jackson, she turned black with pink blotches. The only way to know sure if she laid the eggs is with a new x-ray. This could also ruled out, the before mentioned follicular stasis, which is still pretty assumable. She never looked thinner around her pelvis or her belly looked hollow in certain positions but in normal position she still looks big?

Honestly, I don't know either! I'm so confused. She's looking so good though. Eating well, very active, good feaces etc. But she's still huge around her belly. You can actually see egg shaped bulges near her back end. She's 61g now (was 51g when she was xrayed). I can't see any signs of eggs having been laid and she's definitely no thinner.

That's what I was expecting, the black and pink colourings. But she didn't. She went a lovely warm Peach colour and walked toward him. No defensive displays at all. She's defo not looking any thinner. I'll put some more pics up in a sec. Even her head/cask is bulging slightly like she's overweight, and she's eating quite a few bugs. But she's still a juvenile (11 months old approx) and has eggs, so I've not been tight with her food supply. I think another xray is a good idea.

She’s such a little beauty! 💗 I would think if she’s egg bound, she would be showing some signs of distress - staying low in the enclosure, not basking, not eating, eyes closed, etc. Maybe her eggs aren’t fully cooked yet. ???

Aw thank you. She is beautiful. I fell for her the second I saw her. But she's so confusing! She was digging and gaining weight back in June. The xray was July 26th, a couple of weeks after she stopped digging. They looked fully formed in the pic and that was 5 weeks ago now. She wasn't eating much, not very active, not going toilet etc. The vet suggested operating but was hesitant due to her tiny size. Now she's back eating, active, well hydrated, showing no signs of distress, but still fat and no signs of having been digging! I think maybe @Sonny13 has a shout with another xray. I don't think it's follicular stasis as the eggs looked fully formed and she doesn't seem poorly at all, but I'm interested to see if there's any difference in the egg mass inside her. How long can they carry their eggs?

The veiled of my brother had an X-ray in December (showing eggs) got eventually surgery in June. She was over weighted and showed signs of getting close to laying and had a hollow area around her pelvis at one time (after been digging for max an hour) assuming she laid some eggs. And then went back to normal till she eventually got another X-ray and eventually surgery.

Your girl doesn’t look extremely overweighted. But the lumps are indeed visible. On thing is sure if was egg bound, signs already needed to visible. Mostly within 2 weeks after her window of laying has ended. However no one knows that exact window.

Hi everyone,
Heres my baby girl this morning. Youll see shes now displaying full gravid colours. We did a thing! It was suggested to us that she may be holding on to her eggs because she knew of the male in the room. She wanted them fertilised. So we watched her behaviour very carefully, showing her to him and letting them see eachother. No aggression. No defensiveness. Full colour display from him and beautiful pale colours from her. So we put them together. Not a single fight! 30 seconds later they were fully... in the groove. So she's now mated. 10 days later she's eating lots, active and no longer dark grey. So 3-6 weeks time we should have eggs, fertile or not I don't mind. We're all prepped to look after fertile eggs but more importantly just want her healthy. Fingers crossed this works cos nothing else has!

This is my Rosie. The first time she laid despite plants and a lay bin, she laid on the floor of the enclosure. She ended up laying ten eggs over a three day period. She acted weird for the month leading up to that. Eating on and off. Digging on and off, etc. All turned out good though. Oh a word of warning. The coconut substrate you are using can have parasites. Its best not to use it at all but if you do put the whole block in your freezer for at least three days before soaking it. Best of luck mama. Be patient.

Ugh these female panthers are so beautiful......I feel like I need one...must...resist...
Trust me, resist!! They're beautiful but very challenging. We've just cancelled our 2 week holiday because of this scenario with our girl. Its not fair to ask someone else to watch her or for her regular handler (me) to leave her right now 🤦‍♀️
