Ok so i come home earlier an went strait to mist my enclosure my cham was in the middle and he was dark (as he is anyway as hes young) just darker than normal and his tail and head was powdery white as if the calci dust was on him but it wasant... When i went to hold him the bottom of his mouth enlarged and his body did abit to was this agresion?

Sounds like he may be about to shed.

Honestly, chameleons arent the handling type. If he is gaping and puffing at your presences within his territory. He may very well strike.

I haven't been bit so I can't honestly say.but from what I've read.they are mostly show biting is a last resort.I've been snapped at but only when i knew I was pushing my luck

Why though... Im careing for him lol so would i expect to be bit if i went closer?

Yes. That is his warning to you to back off. As much as we want to think otherwise, chameleons do not have feelings, so they will bite if they feel like it, no matter how well we care for them. He's cranky, you would be too if all your skin was coming off :)

They will bite. And it can hurt.
It's a warning.
Like everyone said, they don't care if they bite the hand that feeds them.
