Day three...
The enclosure conditions are perfect these past couple of days as general heat, basking heat and humidity. Yet Figaro seems to have lost his vibrant green colour! These days, he looked very pale green almost grey in fact. Just wondering whats going on? Any ideas?

Also, I've finally got rid of the hideous crickets! I've left a feeder cup in with both small red runner and dubia roaches. Sadly, he's ignored it so far! He's been right to the pot, but didn't bother feeding. Wonder why?

Yeah no problem.

Yeah no problem.

the setupmis simply a total disaster

dark - make it white!
Full of dangerous fake Plants (replace with living ones)
Fake wine - killer of chameleon eyes, replace immediately
Pieces if wood - too thick
Absemce of a network of thin branches to climb - add!

this is a shocking environment for a chameleon, it will never have vibrant colors in such environment that dors nit resemle its natural biotipe st all!!!

It looks like he’s on stage about to perform. He needs more branches and plants to hide in in the center of the enclosure. He doesn’t like being so exposed.
OK. Ive a 90cm fiscus plant enroute. I can't unfortunately get any more plants that high up I'm afraid. I can add extra vines just but nothing to hide away on. I could order more hanging plants to suspend from the ceiling. I've two, at the moment, which are just inside the doors.

Add more horizontal branches/vines. If that pothos has a long vine(s), bring them up and around some of the branches in the middle.
The danger of adding more branches vines etc would allow him to climb higher towards the ceiling lights. I'm told to leave 12 inches below the lamp to his back

Do you recall what I told you about creating a little scaffold, securing branches to the frame? If you do that, you will be able to attach more branches. It is difficult to get plants in the center of the enclosure, which is why I suggest using the vines from pothos to add more cover. To be so exposed is very stressful. Their instinct tells them that they are open to predators swooping in and eating them. Under prolonged stress, their immune system weakens and they are more prone to illness.

Sorry, I don't recall that. I have a type of scaffold in place in the form of a swing, using 3 x 60cm dowel rods that'll give a platform to work on. I'm always afraid that it may lead to him reaching the ceiling though! Thank you so much for your help

Which is why I suggested raising the light instead of lowering the branches. We are going around in circles here.

The basking light is around 20 inches from his log. Do you think if I sat the T5 tube at the same height, that would be a problem? Arcadia suggest 12 - 15 inches height for their tube. Would twenty inches be too high for its purpose?

Here's a list of plants vines to surround that bare, top space, all imitation. Very bushy in effect to hide behind/around.

Ive sent you a few examples of set ups. They ALL appear to be only a few inches away from their light sources! I find that peculiar, when I'm trying to leave a 12 inch gap!

Here's the examples

You need to leave the 12” space because you are using a 10.0/12% uvb bulb. If you had gotten the 5.0/6% uvb, you could set up like those examples. Regardless, that does not have any effect on adding more branches and wrapping the pothos vine over some. Give the poor guy a shady place and somewhere to hide.

OK, that's fine. I'll order that new artificial foliage to cover him up lol!

Thanks for helping me out.

I have gone round and round with you on distance.... Arcadia is showing distance based on no screen to reduce UVI Level.

LAST TIME I TRY TO HELP....
For a 6% T5 bulb you will have a distance of 9 inches to basking to get a 3 UVI level.
For a 12% T5 bulb you will have a distance of 12 inches to basking to get a 3UVI level.

Distance does not mean you have to drop basking it means total distance between the bottom of the fixture and the closest branch so that in turn means you have the option to raise the fixture up off the top of the cage. OR get the correct bulb strength so it is only 9 inches. WHICH IMO is the best option because as he matures he will rise up higher into the UVB anyways and so will his casque.

VEILEDS CAN NOT HAVE ARTIFICIAL FOLIAGE. What is it that you do not understand about this being an impaction risk.

You have had one die due to an RI... Why won't you listen and implement the feedback given to you? Multiple members now have gone round and round with you about the exact same topics but still you do it your way.

Nothing fake! What you can do is buy a real plant that sort of hangs down... I don't know how to describe it. Maybe something like this but bigger?
