My chameleon has this spot on his butt/leg and ive been trying to figure out how to fix it and make it better, but i dont know what it is or what to do to help it. I need HELP!

Could you tell us a bit about your cham and post a picture? We can't offer any advice on just the amount of information you provided.

Yea, photos please, otherwise we don't know what you're referring to.

Also, if it's something like a burn or a skin infection he's going to need a vet. Only a vet can make sure it doesn't get worse. You might want to consider starting to look for one that treats reptiles and has some experience with chameleons, if possible.

picture of the sore

It is the yellowish tan color where his butt is located. Would i have to take him to the vet?

And also, i feed him like 18 crickets a day. and i was feeding him meal worms. But i have noticed that ever since i started feeding him the worms he got the sore. I mist his cage all the time. And he does not like being handled at all.

Yes, absolutely! That looks horrible, that's not something that you're going to be able to do anything about at home. Try to find a vet immediately!

!!!! Take him to vet asap, that looks very painful! If he poops between now and when you go to the vet make sure you save it in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge and take it with you because they will need to run a fecal. That needs veterinary attention! Whatever originally caused it may need be found, but it definitely looks infected now and he needs appropriate treatment. Ouch!

I am really glad I ask for a picture! Your guy does need a vet as has already been said. Please let us know what the vet says. Any idea how soon you can get him in? I sure hope it is quickly.

OMG that looks like what happened to a beared dragon at the pest store last year! it ate a mealworm and the mealworm chewed its way out! except yours looks like it is infected!

I'd have to say this is one of the more disturbing things that I have seen/heard on this forum. And a mealworm chewing its way out!?! I really hope that's not the case for the little guy. Best of luck and please follow through with taking this guy to the vet. It doesn't look like something that formed overnight meaning this guy have been probably suffering for awhile. :( Again good luck

Okk thank you guys so much. I am definitely going to take him to the vet. I dont know if it could be the meal worms or if its a parasite. I have seen this before though, So i dont know if its common.

A mealworm cannot survive being ingested by a healthy chameleon.

But regardless, you have a chameleon in need of serious assistance. I hope you found a good knowledgable vet! Let us know how it turns out.

Ok so this morning was Judah's visit to the vet. The vet told me that it was a bacterial infection and now i am suppose to clean his sore with this antibacterial jell and afterwords, to put this cream on it. In two weeks i am suppose to revisit. Lets hope his sore gets better. :) Thank you guys! And i do have a question, so if this bacteria is in the cage perhaps, what would be the best way to clean his cage?

Good thing you got him to the vet! I hope he makes a great recovery!

As for cleaning the cage, I would get completely new plants. I would clean the actual cage with bleach and rinse it off REALLY well after. Then I would let it sit in the sun for a day or so.
