Weird

Just wanted to update you on a couple of things.
First-the baby werner's doing well, so far.....9 eating and drinking, but 2 look a bit weaker than the other 7, keeping fingers crossed!

Second-the sick deremensis has had no change in him since vet appointment and treatment. Sleeping most of time and eating if I wake him, which consists of poking him ( i don't like it, but he will not wake up otherwise).
Anyways, he woke up on his own this morning and is eating.
Could he just be in hibernation mode? He should have passed away a while ago, sleeping and not drinking or eating for 1 week at a time. But he looks fine. Eyes are bulging and he pooped (first time in 3 weeks) normal, healthy, no orange.
The only weird thing is that when he grabs a cricket, his eyes close, then he chews it and it takes a while for them to open again.
Does anyone understand any of this?

thanks Jo

Hey Jo,

Good to hear the werners are looking up. Now regarding the deremensis, we've had this happen once before and it took weeks to get her out of it. The first thing I would recommend is getting a fecal done. This can get you started in the right direction. I would get that done sooner than later, as they wont hold on like this for very long. Especially if he refuses water for a week at a time.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Luis

I had a fecal done and did the treatments. I need to get another one?
The vet said once was enough-but she did not know what was wrong woth him.

Good to hear about the Werners. If/when you have time, could you post a bit of info on your set up for the babies? Temp, humidity, set up, etc. Pictures of your set up would be awesome too! My female is gravid, and I'm already nervous. I've been given a lot of great info from some forum members, but the more good info I can get, the better.
