I have a 1 year old male veiled chameleon named Marty. He is in a large Repti breeze mesh cage with lots of natural wood and fines. He has all the proper lighting and heat sources.
His personality is passive and loves to be held. I got Marty when he was 2 months old. From day one of getting Marty at a local pet store I have held him daily. I wanted him to get used to being held. At first it was only for 5 minutes, now he can be out of his cage for up to an hour. He likes crawling around on the floor and exploring, and just hanging out on me. He is hand fed his bugs (except crickets) since he was 3 months old.
I introduced vegies and fruit into his diet by the 6 month. He is healthy and is the local pet stores mascot. He is the only living chameleon from that store. I take pride in that fact!
