What an honour!

It was such an amazing honour to watch the first little baby hatch from angies clutch today. It looks fit healthy and strong and I am so grateful. I saw last night that the egg had an opening at one end and I was so worried that it would hatch while we were asleep:(..... he waited however till this morning to finally make his appearance.:D

Bet you keep that special first hatched one!:D Baby chameleons are so cute - Amy is just about losing her 'big-eyed baby look' now at between 4 and 5 months old. It's amazing how much food they can hoover up, and how fast they grow!:D

Ha ha I know, my husband has actually named it already .... so we will more than likely keep "Brutus" mmmm lets hope he is in fact a "he"!!

Congradulations on him/her.

You can already sex them from hatching.
Just look for the spur if you dont find one its definetely a girl.

And my dogs name is brutus but its brutis, and funny thing is he`s a minicher pincher.

Just a warning do not get to attached to them because then you will struggle to sell them and you will make a loss in your breeding project;)

Don't even go there, lol! It's not even funny! :D Had my doubts about Amy - sometimes I see spurs and sometimes I don't, lol! I guess it'll be easier when more hatch and you can compare feet, lol!:D

Ha ha ROFL..... I can just imagine the comparing feet scenario..... chams will be left undisturbed while lunatic owners try all sorts of double jointed, wildly flexible positions to get to see those tiny little back feet. :D

Have them at 29 C in the day dropping to 27.5 at night.... Not sure what the farenheight is  This little one has hatched on day 204.

Its fine I dont either, I am also South African.
Try incubating them at 26 next time I heard they actualy hatch out at around 6 months if incubated at 26.
I do not know why though, but some breeders here compared each others incubating temps and thats what we came up with.

Wow that will be much better.... the wait is the worst. I have heard of it but was nervous it being my first batch, so I just went by the book (or books  ). I have also heard that temperature has an effect of the sex ratio in the clutch of a veiled so will see how many of what I have.

Congrats Linda, if you have any house work do it now and forget it! I don't think I did anything around here that I didn't have to the first month I had babies. My first clutch of veileds started hatching on 3/15/09, out of 27 eggs I had 26 grow up. They were so much fun all I did was spend time watching those babies. They grow like little weeds and the hoover example is perfect for how they eat!! Enjoy.:):)

Only have 9 incubating. Of which three have hatched. Ha ha laurie housework whats that?? I am very easily distracted and the first place I go to is the chams..... Sure my hubby thinks I am slightly touched....
