Which one is a better buy in the long run
ExoTerra 36x18x36
Dragonstrand hybrid 24x24x48??

I want to go bioactive

then Dragon strand or Tamura Designs. The exo terra size just won't be enough. Especially once you add in your bioactive layer. Not to mention its lack of depth and height if the Panther is on the large size.
From my experience , chameleons tend to use more horizontal space than vertical. I think 36 inches is more than enough space for a temp gradient.
Also, I'm worried about the durability of a DragronStrand or Tamura enclosure, as they won't seem like they would last. I've never used any of the above enclosures, but I have used many exo terras 18x18x24 for my cresties and never had an issue.

I have a standard DS cage but mine is 30 inches wide. I do find that the horizontal space is great but I have the depth and height in it which I find makes a really big difference. With all the Veileds I have had they used the vertical space just as much as horizontal.

My DS cage is now 3 years old and no issues. Tamura enclosures are waterproof and designed for chams. He has the option for a totally bio active enclosure which is nice too.

In then end it is up to you. But putting a male Panther in an exo terra of that size could be problematic as it does limit the overall space they can utilize.

I have a 2x2x4 zen habitats and love it the shipping was more in my price range then dragonstrand. I did have to construct a form on the inside to attach my branches other then that I love the zen habitat
