What kind of chameleon is this?

Wow, okiroo if you say it's your girl than it is! I apologize if I offended you by posting a picture. Your vet posted it to a veterinary forum to get some input from the expert exotic vets. I can't give you the link because you have to log in to view so you wouldn't be able to see it. Your vet just had a few questions, like whether or not it is edema and wanted to make sure your husbandry was correct (he had nothing bad to say about you or your husbandry!) and since he said it was a veiled I wanted to make sure he knew that it wasn't before he told you anything wrong. I was thinking Hoe but wanted to make sure since her nose shape isn't what I was expecting (but I don't have any experience with them), which is why I posted it. Sorry about that!

oh its ok. he said he was going to do that. im surpised it made it here. lol.

cal wi/o d3 everyother feeding on a single criket. im giveing her less than b4 now. im putting a little on the crikets feet.

how many are you feeding her? only cal without d3? How many does she actually eat?
Im asking bc I want to compare what youre doing to what im doing, see if i should change up some stuff.

i dont think im going to give up on him yet. she might be both  i pre much just need him for meds and testing. i was going to get a blood test done but for now im going to raise the temps(done yesterday) and mist alot more and cut back supps. i'll watch her and see how she does and anything left over from that will be readressed with the vet again.

No need to give up on him at all but
You do need to be knowledgeable about chameleons to do the proper meds and testing to have your animal properly diagnosed that is the whole point in going to a Professional Vet. Not to work with them and figure out your issue. So how exactly was your chameleons diagnosed and with what an RI? Was there testing?

thats why he posted on an exotic vet forum, he told me he doesnt know alot so i happiley explain everything i've learned from cham forums and my care. i say she has one becuz her mouth is sticky and i've hearned her weez + she basks alot. those are all symptoms. i've had clair have one before so i have some experience with them. besides haveing a possible swab taken on her saliva i dont see any testing needed. im going to try bakeing it out of her. if the things i've noticed wrong in her dont go away soon or they dont all go away shes going back to the vet. i only took her in two days ago so the suggested treatments only just started.

With how rare chameleons are in the pet trade compared to everything else, and how many people chose not to take their animal in to a vet you are going to be hard pressed to find a vet with a ton of experience with chameleons anywhere in the state, much less in every town! That just does not exist. Vets don't take a class on chameleons in vet school. Most of them don't even take classes in exotics at all. Sometimes you are going to have to work through stuff with your vet because the species vary so much and as a whole are so different from other reptiles to begin with. A vet that is willing to learn from you and seek out advice from experts (like this one is) is going to be a much safer bet than someone who claims to know a lot but is stuck in their ways and treats them like they would any lizard.

I troll both. :) Good learning for me to see what the experts do and anything with "chameleon" in the title immediately catches my eye! Then I come here for more info because we have so many experienced members here!

Tehe. might be a good idea to reduce her food a bit. though i wouldnt think 3 large crix would make her that rotund..
maybe she needs the atkins diet.

shes may be graivd and going to lay slugs soon (ie her body being fat) and than the neck is the endma im working on. shes old enough i think.

they are.. which is why i wnt a girl. lol,

i might get a boy for chloe sometime. they dont have too many babies so i could handle them. i really want a female for my pygmy so i can produce some CB pygmy spectrum. if chloe and kermit produced they would be CBB.
