What kind of sealant for custom background?

Hi all. Some of you have seen my background progress thread and I am about to start painting over the grouted background. I am going to use acrylic paint (plus windex so i can use it in my airbrush)-- I need some kind of sealant to cover over all of this and NOT make the paint bleed or run. I also would like something with a matte finish or slightly glossy finish. Is there a specific one I can get at Lowe's or Home Depot?

The only experience I have with anything close to this is using Silmar 249 resin over carbon fiber for some stuff I did for my Corvette. I certainly cannot use that one over my background because it will not be safe for my panther.

Thanks.

Found a non toxic one at home depot for 30 bucks! I had no idea sealants could cost so much per bottle or gallon (one was 98 bucks a gallon)!

@spawn: he's referring to a sealant to go over the grout.

Drylok is a latex-based "paint". I would VERY strongly recommend against it for being used directly on foam.

However, I highly recommend drylok if you are working with wood.... :)
