What's the better choice for a first time owner?

I've been researching chameleons for quite sometime and am getting all my supplies to set up a cage with a mistking automister.

I am currently in the dilemma of which chameleon to choose.

I have it down to a nosy be, nosy faly, or nosy mitsio all which are available to me.

I want one that will have that exotic look and have heard that nosy be's can look almost unreal when fired up.

Which would be the better first chameleon?

personally i would pick faly but its up to you and your walet. you may want to post picks of your set up before you make your purchase just in case someone can help you perfect it first.

You blue nosey be's (and some ambanjas)tend to be at their best at their normal colors. The others tend to show their best when they're fired up.

I like to judge chameleons not by their fired up colors, which they will not usually show, but by their normal colors.

I like Nosey's and ambanaja.

If one of the locales is Captive Bred, I would DEFINATELY pick that one asa new owner. Parasites aren't any fun! Where are you from?:D

Well between those three choices, it's really up to two things: 1. your color preference and 2. what you're willing to pay for a (first) cham. My first was a Nosy mitsio because I like their color scheme. It sounds like you would actually like an Ambanja better though. I think they have the more exotic color scheme. They have blues and purple bars sometimes. Where do you see those 3 locales available? I've been looking for more Nosy Mitsios. I agree with Nic Barta, captive bred, if available, is the best choice.

I live in Canada, and chameleon nation has nosy bes ready for the end of april and nosy falys and nosy mitsios available in around 6 months.

I'm in no rush and am thinking of nosy faly, because I like the colour scheme they present while fired up and they seem to be the rarest option (the first babies in canada).

The nosy mitsio from what i understand are also rare, but i do not know if i want it to be green.

the downside is that the nosy faly and nosy mitsio are double the price of the nosy be.
