Every chameleon's different. My lil guy wasn't too colorful until he hit his 3rd shed. I actually still thinks he's a late bloomer...

Mine was just over 4 months when he started showing color. Of course after each shed, he'll start to show more and more.

Panthers she about 1 every 3-4 weeks when growing up until about a year or so. Not too familiar with flapnecks, so can't help there unfortunately. :(

Ive had my flapneck for close to 3 years so i dont need any help with that lol just saying he barely sheds, like ever

Upon having a look, he seems to be taking after his uncle (Hulk). He didn't color up until 6 months. He stayed green and white, and then POP! Good news is, Hulk turned out to be one of the brighter colored chams of his relatives. 'Patience is a virtue.' (I am full of one liners today. :D) He'll get there. (Go to my albums and have a look at Hulk's baby pic. You'll see what I mean)

he has a little blue and green behind his ears and he shows a litttle more color in his cage not out. I was just curious when people saw colors in theirs, im expecting him to be 2 more months. and he does look like hulk as a baby, ill be happy as long as he gets colorful! i just started dusting his crickets and ive been dusting them before the other day with Dino Fuel and also been putting the dino fuel on the crickets and flies food and their eating it so they are fully gutloaded! stoked to see how he comes out

My little guy's between 3 and 4 months, I've had him for a month now and he had his first shed since I bought him a few days ago. I was told by the vendor that he might be a bit of a late bloomer as others from the same clutch were already showing a little colour, so I'm just waiting patiently and enjoying having him and not worrying about his colours, he's healthy, is well cared and eats well, and that's what's important. He's showing black, white, varying degrees of brown and even orange so far.

hmmm...brown/orange is typically sign of a female...

My panther boy is between 3 and 4 months of age, and juuuust started showing a bit of green and red on his head. His breeder said his sire didn't even start colouring up until 5-6 months of age and that he more or less changed from a blue bar Ambilobe at 6-7 months to a red bar Ambilobe at 9-10 months! My boy's dam's line (blue bar) was similar; they didn't show their final colours until 6-8 months of age.

I guess I still have some waiting (and he has some growing!) to do before we discover if he takes after dad or mum!

I have a male veiled chameleon and from when we first got him he had very faint camouflage like markings. These became more prominent after every shed. HIs bright yellow stripes with teal polka dots and orange tip spikes only showed after a shedding once he became an adult. We loved the fact that we had no idea what colours he would become and the day he showed us his new vibrant colours we were amazed...and still are. I will try (for the first time) to put pics before and now. Hope this works, lol.

wow your veiled is kinda nuts. I let pancake roam around today on a ficus outside his cage alone and he brightened up like crazy, cant wait for all his colors to come in

I have had my baby veiled for 2 months and he has had color ever since I got him. I don't know exactly how old he was when I got him but he was probably around 2 months old
