Tear down basically done, it’s still pretty sturdy. After I add plywood to the back it will be rock solid. I know I said I wasn’t going to mess with it until spring, but shit that’s what I always say lmao.

So, what’s the best option to seal things up and make them waterproof? Options I’m thinking of, flex seal, epoxy pool paint, cover the walls and floor in extruded pvc. Input would be greatly appreciated.

This one is a combo of epoxy and FlexSeal. Background is epoxy, everything else is FlexSeal.

Hows the FlexSeal holding up? Does the finish need to be sanded from the wood for it to bond properly?

Thank you, the blue in the epoxy actually glows at night! Flex seal still in perfect shape and will bond to damn near anything, smooth or rough.

However I will say this, you will never regret the shortcut you didn't take.

I plan to automate everything. I use to have a full blown coral reef tank and it was straight mad scientist level. I even had everything hooked to an Apex controller so I could monitor water parameters and make changes as needed from my smartphone.

Removed some of the lower foliage to promote better airflow, cleared up on its own in a couple weeks. Had a CPU fan blowing on it for a while but I removed it to see if the mold came back, it did not.

about one gallon and one quart. one coat is pretty thick and probably plenty but I did 3.

Purchased this one today for $75. It’s much deeper twenty inches to be exact. Each side will provide an enclosure space of 32x20x48. This will work perfectly for a pair of panthers. Probably won’t mess with it until spring.

Wish I had a tank like that. Funnily enough I bought a 2x2x3 tank for my young Cham and it cost me nearly 200 however I am planning on buying another and fixing it on top of my chameleons tank to make it 2x2x6 ft

Got the plywood on today, It’s rock solid now. I’ll be getting the FlexSeal this weekend.

I would choose this one IF you are willing and able to do the more extreme modifications, meaning attach the two together, remove a few dividing walls and floors, and make new front doors. That would be a very nice and roomy enclosure. You could even make it into two enclosures but personally I would make it one large space as I like to give a lot of horizontal room as well as height.

I don't care much these wooden cabinet builds but I absolutely love the interior. Did you use ropes covered with peat and silicone to make the vines wrapping around other pieces of wood? I may use this as some inspiration for my next enclosure build.
