OMG!!! Stay safe!!!! You guys up in NY are getting flooded! :(

WTF!!! JPM, is that your yard???!!! that's terrible!! are you going to be okay??

I need a Valium now!

Power here is about to wink out, better check my iPhone!!

All my guys have been fed, and I have some 20gal pales outside to catch rain for cham drinking water, may as well get some benafit!

Wow thats crazy!!! I live in Staten island and my parents are out for the week. I have some rain and winds and i live right near the beach :(. The only problem is that i am worried about my chameleon getting cold, They say that the power will go out tonight but ill see.

yuuppp. shes going to be hanging around new hampshire for a while.

im on the same electrical grid as the police station, fire department, and a hospital so if the power goes out it wont be for to long.

it is although getting very very windy!!

Good luck to everyone in her path. That street that is flooded before the storm even arrives reminds of Galveston with Ike ripped the island apart! :( The tidal surge hit DAYS before Ike made landfall. A lot of people couldn't even get off the island. Ike was only a Cat II with Cat IV flooding...Again, good luck and get out if you can!

Thanks guys, I bailing out [if i can] brfore storm hits. Lizards are on their own, but just gave them some extra food.

hopefully western Pa does not get power out. hopefully the moutians block most of the storm good luck to those of you in flooded areas. and make your chams wear life jackets

We're in for a direct hit here. I'm not looking forward to losing power, but at least it's not going to get that cold. My cham has been in the window all day looking for the sun. . . haven't got the heart to tell him it won't be back until . . .?

I brought my tortoises in from the balcony, they're now set up in the basement, but I'll be monitoring them regularly to make sure it stays dry.

Stay safe everyone in Sandy's path..

The winds are beginning to kick in. Our power flickered about an hour ago but luckily stayed on. So far so good, but I just know what's coming. The nervous anxiety that comes from knowing power outage is inevitable!! Generators were sold out of Home Depot and Lowe's since Friday!!

Be careful. I've been through Katrina. I know how devastating and scary these storms can be. If you have somewhere that you can go that is out of harm's way, go! If not, stock up on non perishable food items, water, medications, pet food, batteries, flashlights, candles and generators, etc. if you can find them. Bunker down and be safe, y'all. You guys are in my prayers!

I lived in an apartment three houses from the Great South Bay right near you. That is not a good sign with a lunar high tide due during the peak! I would definitely get out now while you can. Lots of family still in the tri-state area. You are all in our prayers. Good Luck and we're hoping for the best!

Just a side note for Florida keepers...It is going to be COLD tonight due to the jet stream dip. I'm expecting temps below 40 degrees tonight near me. Keep your outside chams warm!!! ;)

I hear ya man! I'm near Pittsburgh and am hoping our power stays on, I have too many reptiles to keep warm by candle light :-(

Sump pump is pumpin water out by the gallons! Luckily, we were able to find a friend who let us borrow a power converter, so if power goes out we can run the sump from our car. It's going to be a LONG night
