100 watt for the basking bulb is too hot 60 watt is better and don't get red get a white incandescent bulb
No duel lamp just get a single for the basking bulb
You need a linear UVB light as well is a long tube and the hood for it take the plastic covering off 5.0 is good
You want at least for a 2-3 month old a 16x16x30
Screen enclosure But you will need to upgrade to a 24x24x48 by the time 6 months
Make sure your live plants are chameleon safe you will need to was both sides of leaves and replace soil with organic soil

Im getting a 16 by 16 by 30.
Im getting a ExoTerra Intense basking spot 25W because baby veiled need a spot thats about 80-84F. Ficus tree is good and make sure its SCREEN. Glass can cause respritory infections. Feed Calcium no D3 every feeding. Use a multi-vitamin with D3 twice a month. I use reptivite with D3

This light with UVA stimulates breeding behavior so I personally wouldnt go with this..

Basking Bulbs
These bulbs are normal shaped incandscents and do not have UVB. They are used to create heat for reptiles to bask in for proper digestion and visible light. The wattage corresponds to the amount of heat and light (higher wattage = more heat). Generally a 40 or 60 watt bulb is appropriate. It should be a white light bulb.

You can find more information at the home button scroll down to Chamaeleon care and It will give options like lighting etc.

Ok, i just saw that it stimulates breeding, thought it was just heat. What bulb should i get?

Gray, this is not your thread. Please make your own and ask your questions in there, so the OP here does not get confused as to whose question we are answering.

I just gave you the answer to that depending on the temperature in the room it would be between 40 and 60 watt Incandescent white basking bulb you will need to reference the box for the appropriate gauge on inches and temperature (if you hang your light or set it on the top of the cage to the point at where your basking branch is) to make sure that it's in the correct zone according to your basking spot

Im a bit late to the thread but I bought a premium from FLChams. Ill post aa photo of when I first got Kyle and a recent one from a few weeks ago to show how much they change. I'll try to find a pic of the Sire to show how similar my chameleon is compared to the father in coloration.

And here is the father, Driskel.

There are several others I would place in the "steak" category too. @jannb would fall into the steak category for veiled, @Matt Vanilla Gorilla, @NHenn and @eric thompson to name a couple of panther breeders that are members/ sponsors here would fall into that category too. If and when I am ready to work with ambanja I will likely check out @nrnbow24 to see if she has anything available since I know she does her best to trace her lineages several generations back. What about @jajeanpierre? I would say her quads fall into the steak category too. There's many more that could be put into this category as well that aren't members here and I'm sure some that are that I've missed.

Don't get me wrong, I respect what the kammers have done for this sub of the hobby. I do have some of their nosy be blood in a project I'm working on with @Matt Vanilla Gorilla though she is the third gen of the male originally purchased from them by the person I got her from. But, point being, "enough said" really isn't "enough said" (y).

Sure it is! I talked about what I know! You must know lots more people than I know as far as how they breed, record, care for, stand behind, and can show years of doing what they do. I would be amazed if you could name 5 who have anywhere near the expierence the Kammers have. I know a number or the people you referenced - not all but a good few. Back ages ago I was a moderator on Chameleon Forms. Some of the people you listed were not even around them. Jannb? She knows her stuff. Been to her home, and she is excellent with her chams. But nor even close the the expierence of the Kammers. I am not trying to be mean to you but, years, and years of expierence count for a lot! Nick Henn is great at what he does! But he doesn’t have the years that Ed Kramer’s has. There are a lot of good people, don’t get me wrong but only a couple ( you missed them) who can ever get neat what Kammers have done for panther chameleons. Give the man hin due!

This about the only reply that has true meaning for this new hobbyist.

Young man (or woman) Jannb is one of the best keepers on this forum. If she took the time to post something it's in your best interests.

Don't overdo this for a new chameleon, simple is better and I know that is hard to believe when buying one of this little dragons. There is a most excellent care sheet on these forums concerning this species you want, read it and you'll have a better start than those who came before you decades ago.

As for premium? Don't buy into the hype. That's a crock. The #1 thing you need to do is buy from a reputable breeder, don't buy into all the ads. You will find a number of solid breeders here for starters. Jannb might have one even but she won't sell you one if she thinks you can't care for it.

By the way, screw a veiled. :ROFLMAO::D:ROFLMAO::D Get a Panther for your first starter chameleon.

There's my .02
