Hi my names Wyatt and i live in Hawaii. I work on a golf course and was cutting down a good portion of trees for a new layout and found this guy. brought him home and my girlfriend loves him already. I've had him for two days now and have been reading and trying to apply all the knowledge i can find. He lost alot of color since taking him home and seems very shy and always on alert. That all makes sense from reading they go a darker color from stress and whats more stressful than getting your home chopped down an abducted by a giant. He has been eating crickets ( about 7 in the last 2 days). He climbs and moves around but mostly at the top. The reason I have the light tilted like that is because he was opening his mouth quite a bit yesterday so wanted to give him some space from the heat lamp. the shower cutains on the side are to keep the humidity up cuz it kept droping to around 50 and now with them is sitting around 65. Im taking the crash course on how to care for this little guy and im nervous that hes not happy or enjoying his new home. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Oh and i cant tell how old he is if somebody can tell. THANKYOU!

I see your paying attention to his humidity but what are your temps? Maybe get a ficus tree to give him some privacy. And if that’s artificial turf on the bottom get rid of it. That a breeding ground for bacteria. You can change you shower curtain and replace it with how I did mine here it more pleasant to look at.

The temps are 73-77 at the bottom and 80-85 at the top during the day with the daylightblue reptile lamp on. At night its about 65-70 top n bottom. i would like to put a tree but the few i have are to big to fit already. if i get a tree how much space should be left on top/bottom/sides from the screen? and yes have only kept him inside so far. since he seems very nervous i tought it would be best to leave him alone to do he thing and try not to move him as much as possible while he gains some trust for the new home. Im using a reptisun 5.0 uvb bulb that i turn on at the same time with the blue light around 7am and then turn off at 630pm. The crickets im feeding him are from petco and the lady who worked there said the green chunk inside the cricket box is filled with vitaimins that transfer over when he eats them.
Nothing. Just keep the bottom that comes with it. Or you can order a tray that keep excess water from coming out.
