Wisteria Vine Usage

So I have access to a ton of Wisteria. I'd like to use this medium as the branches in my cage. I have seen mixed talk about it usage. The best I seem to have found was that the foliage and flowers are toxic. Does that mean if I strip all foliage and use bare branches that I could safely wash it up and use it? Thanks

I am certainly no expert, but if it says toxic, I stay away. Chams seem to have a basic instinct for avoiding toxic foliage, but in your situation I would fear the risk of toxins leaching out of the vines as they dry and getting into his water. Again i am no expert, and it might be totally safe. The question to ask yourself though is this. Is ANY risk of danger too much risk? I always try to err on the side of caution.

Spoken like an engineer! J/k! :D I would also agree that if there is any risk, why chance it? Like the engineer said, I am also no expert... :)

whoopsy.... I dried some vines in the oven, and have been using them for AWWWHHHIILLLLEEE now. I guess I need to replace his favorite hang out spots.

well from what i know its the "sap" like stuf inside thats the toxic part so if the branch in fully dried and i mean fully dried i dont see it being a problem, also that need to have no bark on them

Just came across this thread. I picked up a lot of wisteria vine this week as well and I am in the midst of letting them dry out. From what i read the bloom and leaves are what is toxic not the vine so I am assuming by these answers a fully dried out vine would be fine?

These are so big I don't have a pot nor an oven big enough . So I was going to spray them down with a water and bleach solution and let them dry a month or two.
