?Wood Stain?

I am in the process of building a wood framed screen cage. It is made of oak
and will be in my livingroom. I do not want to paint it but am wondering if anyone here has any thoughts as to what type of sealant would be O.K. for the wood considering humidity and water.
Would something like an outdoor deck sealer be apropriate?

I only use wood framed screened cages for all my chameleons,and i use a regular seeler,and it has never given me any problems......

I'm at stain and seal stage and want to make sure this lasts.
Was even thinking marine seal but it is a bit glossy.
