I kind of get the same impression as the OP. I'm not saying it's a good thing or a bad thing, I just feel like the demeanor of many on this forum is similar to that of the average teenager. Most posts are also full of spelling and grammatical errors, which always makes me think the author is young and uneducated (whether it's true or not).

I will admit that I'm not perfect when it comes to typing/spelling, I did not take any formal classes and I'm not very computer savvy either. The spell check requires some sort of download, that I can't seam to get to work properly either. My post may have errors, but my points are made and I don't see it to be a huge issue.

The OP's comment sounds more like a blow at the community, implying that we are all immature, and he's believes himself to be superior.

Was that the point you were trying to make "Mr. lampshade"??

FireFox has an integrated spell check, I believe.

Perhaps he meant it like this, perhaps he didn't. Maybe we should stay on the positive side of things and hope this is more of a joke.

Ok, I agree that the way people post tends to have many grammatical errors or misspellings. However, as a teacher I think it has to do more with the technological age we are in than the 'young and uneducated'. Think about how many people use texting or email as a form of communication. Do you spell everything out when you text or email? I know I don't. I think it comes down to the fact that it takes less time and energy to write certain things out.

Yes, I do. I cannot stand text jibberish. I have a full keyboard on my phone (but, even when I didnt) and I use the appropriate words, not numbers in place or shorthand.... It takes too long to decipher that otherwise..Same with email.. No offense to anyone but not writing it out is just lazy.. We were interviewing for a babysitter and she sent me an email.. All in text, no capitals letters..We didnt even respond..makes me think of my 8 year old spelling things out with one finger..

How about elimination? I use that word often..Defecate sounds morbid.
