Worried about my baby male veiled...Is he okay?

I woke up this morning to find my chameleon basking, his lights come on at 8am, I woke up around 9, he was all stretched out on a vine basking, but he looked really skinny and dry, I noticed his humidity dropped to 25%, so I quickly misted, it has never gone this low, no idea why it did today.

Anyways, after I misted for a few minutes, he quickly turned bright green and was "on the move" for the water on the leaves.

He took a few drinks, and looked alright again, back to normal, def. not as skinny. He then began to kinda roll his head on the leaf where the water was, is that normal? It looked strange but it looked like he just enjoyed the water?

I noticed he ate the 2 small silkworms I placed in there the day before, and I noticed two new poop spots, so I know he is eating and drinking, I was just nto sure why he looked like this this morning.

Is he alright?

I just replied to your other thread...I really think it would be a good idea to take him to the vets. I don't like the way he looks.
 
He only looked like that for a minute, when I walked up I did spook him, he quickly turned his head at me and got a lil darker, that is when I grabbed my phone to take that pic, and then he got really skinny.. he was only like that for maybe 2-3 minutes tops.

He looks very healthy and green now that he is not spooked.. I just watched him eat a crick.
 
Its possible that the rubbing was for his eyes. If he has been pretty dry, that type of behavior is usually them cleaning/lubricating their eyes. Did his rubbing also follow by his eyes bulging out in wierd ways? Its a bit freaky the first time ya see it, but again.. how they clean out their eyes.
 
Sorta, 1 eye looked more bulged.

I just checked on him, he still looks fine, I must hav over-woried this morning when I saw him like that.
 
I agree, he may be trying to clean his eyes. Try giving him a shower. That will hydrate him and give him a chance to clean his eyes out.
 
I am going to try to get my digital camera and take a better pic of him in the morning, I totally forgot I own a digital camera I let my mom borrow it 3 years ago. :D
 
I think he is doing alright, I watched him all morning, he was very active and bright, I watched him eat and drink. He doesnt look anything like he did the other day, he is fatter and bigger looking today for some reason.
 
Yea, I have seen baby chameleons get the wrinkle in their skin when teir body is positioned a certain way.
Now that I'm tinking of it my adult veiled had a similar wrinkle in his skin when I was holding him last week.
So, it may just be natural.
I wouldnt worry as long as your husbandry is correct.

It should be perfect, he has plent of space to move around, temps are perfect, humidity varies, but I am working on getting a humidifier for at night, cause it drops to 25% in there at night until I mist.

Relaaaaaax. Your cham is fine, I'm sure. There is such a thing as being over-attentive. Sometimes messing with your cham can do more harm than good. Constantly staring at it, moving around cage furniture, dumping in lots of food, blasting it with the water bottle, ect can stress out a young chameleon. Just set him up in perfect housing and give it some peace and quiet to settle in. I think you're over doing things...

I do appreciate your concern and drive towards perfection though and I really hope your male veiled grows up happy and healthy for you.

You're right. I leave him alone from 1pm til he goes to bed. I get up in the morning and kind check on him usually, and then let him do his thing, and ill peroidocly check on him before I go to work, when I dont check on him again til 9pm when I get home, lights go off at 8pm, he is usually green and sleeping.

I was only watching him this mronign so much due to his health scare, but I am not worried now, he looks fine, just seems small for his age.
 
Looking through the gallery, I think my cham is alot closer to 6-8 weeks, rather than 3 months like I thought.
